y/n pov
TODAY IS THE DAY!! The well known and celebrated St Patrick's Day. I had returned to Ireland to my childhood home where i was born and raised, to celebrate with my family. I cant wait to go around the streets and watch the parades play all the traditional music that i grew up listening to. Of course i'm upset that hailee couldn't come because of her work, she's really busy at the moment, but it'll be a good time to rekindle with friends and family.

It was currently 10am and i had woken up to my annoying brother playing his guitar the loudest he could right in my ear. He played a recognisable song to start the celebration. That had always been sort of a tradition in my family, from the moment we woke up, the celebration began.

"COME ON Y/N GET UP WOULD YE YA EEJIT" Luke, my brother yelled in my ear and started singing along to the chords he was playing in the guitar. Before i knew it, i was up and singing along with him. It brought so much joy to be with my family again, i was smiling and laughing and it's only been a few minutes. Today is gonna be a good day.

After i had gotten out of bed i hopped in the shower for a quick wash. I had put on a Irish jersey and went down to say hello to my family, after all, i've only seen my brother so far.
After i had seen my family again after so long and had time with them, it was time to get ready for the day.

Hailee's pov:
I'm currently on a plane. To Ireland. To celebrate with y/n. I find her culture and her small counties history so interesting. I cant wait to see her again and to see her family. I love her family, they are all very kind and so supportive of us and i'm so thankful for that.

I texted y/n's parents to see if they would be okay if i came over and they said of course so i booked the flight tickets.
I am fast approaching the runway track and i'm getting my bags all ready to get off.

Im in a cab- or as the irish ones would say "a lift" right now to y/n home that she grew up in. It's small but it's very cosy, i always love coming here.

I rang the doorbell and y/n's parents answered
"ohhh hailee darling come here" y/n's mum pulled me in for a tight hug.

"ohhh i'm so happy to see you mr and mrs kelly, it's been wayy to long"

"oh for jesus sake hailee, how many times do we have to tell you to call us Karen and Eamon? hmm?" y/n's dad scolds at me. I chucked and smiled at them, to be fair they have told me to call them by their names but i never do.

"y/n is just upstairs getting herself ready for the big day ahead, you can go up and see her if you want, don't be shy, this is your home too"
"thank you... Karen" i smiled at her and made my way up.

y/n's pov:
i was in my room, blasting music to get me pumped up, i can literally hear nothing right now. I'm doing my eyeshadow, and what better time to put green, white and orange on my eye?
i was so focused on getting this right nothing else mattered in the moment. However, that was down the drain when i felt two arms going around my shoulders, at first i thought it was my sister coming in to annoy me. BUT THEN - she started whispering in my ear and i instantly recognised her voice.

"happy st patricks day baby" she said in her raspy, deep voice.
I turned around in shock and wide eyed
"Hailee? What are you doing here?"
"i'm here to celebrate with you silly" i said with my head against hers.
"oh my god what the hell?? ugh i cant wait for you to see our amazing culture, your gonna love it" i take pride in my roots.

"i already do love your culture, it's yours and i love you"
i chuckle at my own cringy line but rest my lips on hers. It lasts for seconds but with her it feels like forever.

"you need to get ready my love" y/n states with her think Irish accent that is sooo hot.
"get me something to wear then darling" i smirk at her, implying that i want to wear her clothes

She dresses me in a lovely Irish jersey with the national anthem at the back and some bicycle shorts and some white shoes to top it off. i have to say, i liked it.
"you look so good hails, green suits you"
y/n compliments me.
"thank you love" i beam down at her as she's a little bit smaller than me.

We headed for the town and watched the parades, i didn't know anybody aground me but y/n knew everyone and was talking away to all of them, i caught up with some of y/n's close friends that knew about me and y/n's relationship.

y/n was having the time of her life, she was clapping her hands, cheering on the people with the drums and dancing with the biggest smile of her beautiful face. I loved seeing her in her element. I decided to join in with her dancing and clapping and she loved it. Without thought she pulled me closer and laid her hands on my waist and leaned in to kiss me. She didn't care if anyone saw us, she knew no one would care because everyone is so supportive and unbothered by queer couples. I wish it was like this everywhere.

After the parades were over, we headed down the road to a local pub where there was a few bands playing in. Y/n ordered both us a pint of Guinness each as it is the go to Irish beer.
We sang the music until our voices were horse and sore. Now you are probably wondering how i knew all these songs? Let me tell you, y/n has me well educated.

We danced, we laughed, we sang, we talked all night and i wouldn't of had it any other way. It was probably one of the best nights i've had in a very long time.
i love it here.
