Remus Lupin was a werewolf.

Of course that was a serious accusation so on the next full moon she followed him. She saw him creep into the forbidden forest So she crept into the forbidden forest. If he was a werewolf she would need to put some distance between them and so she climbed a tree. A very tall tree that if she weren't a witch she would't have considered climbing. And at just the right time she saw Remus run into the forest. He didn't see her but she saw him.

If she weren't so terrified of falling her hands would be clamped over her mouth as she saw him transform. His bones breaking one by one until he was disfigured and then the hair growing over them, the worst part was Remus's screams that weren't fully wolf just yet. Ash felt sorry for the boy but she was also scared out of her mind. She watched as he ran around beneath her in pain and without his right mind. He was full wolf now. She thanked merlin as she saw the sun rise that she had learned the refreshing charm. Better than 8 hours of sleep and an energy drink.

Remus was asleep now. It didn't look peaceful at all and his clothes were shredded. She climbed down from the tree before he could see her and walked to breakfast. Maybe she shouldn't have been so nosy, it wasn't her secret to figure out.

Three days later Ash found Remus sitting at the edge of the Black lake reading alone. She sat next to him made room for her never looking up from his book. They were friends, as close as friends that met 2 months ago should be.

"If someone knew a secret that they shouldn't know about a person who doesn't want that secret known, should they tell them?" Ash laid on her back, this made Remus glance at her before humming a quiet yes.

"You're sure? Some people have impossible secrets," Ash sat up and held his gaze.

"...what do you mean?" Remus chuckles nervously dropping the book and giving Ash his full attention.

"I was just thinking," Ash says

"Oh Um alright," Remus chuckles nervously.

A week later she was in the library. A book about werewolves opened in front of her as she inched closer to Remus.

"Um what are you reading..."Remus asked.

"Werewolf secrets."

"Oh uh!" Remus rubs his neck nervously. He was sweating buckets.

"Yeah. What are your thoughts on werewolves?"

"I uh... well um I- ...they're monsters."

"How shallow of you Rem."

"What?"

"I just didn't expect that. How shallow. I thought you'd mention the prejudice they have to face and reflect on a few facts about them like how they lose their human mind once they're in there were form. Instead you say they're monsters. It's shallow."

Ash 's words flowed out before she could correct herself. It was as if for a split second she had forgotten Remus himself was a werewolf. Overlooked the fact Remus called himself a monster. Now she wanted to give him a hug.

"It doesn't change the fact that they're monster."

Ash looked at Remus, "Then monsters are really beautiful."

The next month she was in the tree again. Almost as if to make sure she had really seen him transform. When his bones broke and he became a werewolf again she was almost used to it. How long would she just watch him transform like this. It felt like an invasion of privacy and so this would be the day she told him she knew.

She watched the werewolf all night. All the way until he became Remus again. And then she watched as he woke up. He got up tenderly, his muscles ached and he was exhausted.
