After a long day of field work and sightseeing for the upcoming project, I finally arrived home and walked in to witness James and Ishmael screaming a Jason Derulo song at the top of their lungs.
This was nothing new to me now, they did this everyday sometimes multiple times in a day. It was nice seeing them bond like they have always been together.
James made Ishmael feel like he was home and took care of him. He understood him and they were truly mad for music.
I scoffed at them while they sang.
Let me take you dancing
Two-step to the bedroom
We don't need no dance floor
Let me see your best move
Anything could happen
Ever since I met you
No need to imagineJames stopped the music and asked me how my day went, I vented out all about my day- how it was just exhausting and the manager of the client was a idiot the lack of management and bla bla bla.
I was interrupted by Ishmael saying, "yeah we get it, James can we play MANIAC by Conan next."
I rolled my eyes at them walking away said, "I hate you both."
In between the lyrics they said in chorus, "well that's too bad cause I love you"
I gasped at them looked at James and said, "you told him !!"
Ishmael shrugged and gave me a thumps up making James laugh, I turned back trying to suppress my smile but that seemed impossible. They continued singing wait no screaming yeah they were literally screaming the words and jumping like Maniacs ironically.
Tell all of your friends that
I'm crazy and drive you mad
That I'm such a stalker, a watcher, a psychopath
And tell them you hate me
and dated me just for laughs
So, why do you call me
and tell me you want me back?
You maniac
*We all were cozily sitting on the couch re-watching How I met your mother. Ishmael turned to us he had a serious look on his face, he said, "Guys I want to tell you something."
James and I quickly sat up straight and james switched the television off. Ishmael continued.
"My school needs signature of parents or guardians on some documents and the last day is approaching."James said, "Oh okay, bring them to me I will sign."
Ishmael sighed and replied, " thats the thing you can't, you aren't related to me or my family in any way yet."
"Well I can sign them" I interrupted.
Ishmael turned to me and sad apologetically that I can't.
James and I looked at each other we didn't get it.He asked, "Why not, she is related to you she is your sister."
"Yeah I know but Olive's existence was never mentioned at my school, all my documents at school say that I don't have siblings plus she isn't my legal guardian as well." Ishmael explained sadly.
James could sense the sadness in his voice he consoled Ishmael, "don't worry bro, we will take care of it and get it done before the deadline. Go and sleep now."
Ishmael smiled and made his way to his room, I called him out and reminded him, " Do your homework first !"
He turned back and said, "Already done, James threatened me to not sing along with him if I didn't." and walked into his room.
I turned to James and he was smirking like an idiot but it vanished in seconds and he whispered slowly, " what are we going to do about this."
We both let out a sigh and sat in silence to figure something out but there was no loophole here. We had to confront John and my mother. It was going to be rough but it was necessary.
James and I agreed on one thing that no matter what we aren't letting go Ishmael back to them. At last we decided to visit May and Harry and discuss this all with them.
I stood up and said goodnight to James he said it back and prepared the sofa to sleep on it. I feel bad that he has to sleep on the sofa while the corner of the bed lays empty, missing James's presence.
But I guess it was what it was, we weren't ready yet. I hope the day arrives soon when me and James aren't him and I anymore rather we are US again.
