"Mom and dad invited you for dinner today, if you need to get out of your house." Addison told her best friend as they were walking home. "I would accept that offer, without hesitation, hadn't it been for Mr. Montgomery. He gave me a deadline for the project about family that I never did and I have until the end of class on Friday, or I fail." Eddie sighed."That's why you were drawing doodles in your sketchbook." the blond said, getting a nod in response from her brunette best friend. "Any ideas on what to write about?" she then asked. "I can't exactly write that my family sucks and my parents constantly yells at each other about how much they regret getting married." Eddie joked.
"Then you make something up." Addison suggested. The werewolf sighed before she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. Maybe I should just give up on the project." she suggested. "What? No! You can't do that. If you fail Science, you won't be able to graduate with us next year." Addison reminded. Eddie groaned in annoyance before they stopped outside of her house. "Come over if you feel like you need to get out." the blonde smiled before hugging her best friend and entering her own house.
Eddie sighed once again before walking through the door of her home. "How was your day, sweetie?" her mom asked, her voice clearly shaking. "It was fine. What's wrong?" the wolf asked, slowly walking towards her mother who had her back facing her. "Nothing, Sweetie. Your dad is out for the day so it will be only you and me." she smiled to her daughter.
Eddie stared at the stained tears on her cheek before giving her a hug. "I'm sorry, but I don't have the energy to make dinner tonight." She then said. "No, that's fine. I wasn't that hungry anyways." Eddie smiled kindly before going to her room. She placed herself on the bed with her computer in front of her, ready to start the project.
But she hadn't been able to write a single word for the past two hours, and just stared at her Computer screen while trying to come up with something. Eddie sighed in relief as her phone tarted to buzz, showing her best friend's name on the screen. "How's the project going?" Addison asked over the phone.
"I have been sitting here for two hours and not a single word has been written." Eddie sighed. "Come over and I can help you." the blonde smiled, before her best friend happily accepted and crawled through her bedroom window.
"Have you decided what you're going to write about?" The blonde asked her best friend as she sat down on her desk chair. "Well, I can't exactly expose my horrible living situation." Eddie joked, but failed at making her friend laugh. The two friends then spent almost half an hour, trying to come up with ideas.
"What about...my family?" Addison suggested. Eddie hit her cheek with her pencil as she thought. "No, he won't accept that. We both know it." She sighed. "I'll just have to tell him that I wasn't able to do it." she said sadly. "You can't just give up now." Addison said, trying to help her friend.
Eddie sighed once again before her phone buzzed. "No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no." she said before quickly packing up her stuff. "What's wrong?" her best friend asked. "My dad's home early and if he finds out that I'm here, he'll kill me." she said before almost jumping out of Addison's window and climbing through her own.

"Hey, has anyone seen Eddie today?" Eliza asked as she met up with the rest of the gang by Addison's locker. "I thought she was with you." Addison answered. "I haven't seen her all day." Zed told. "Maybe she decided to stay home because of the bad weather?" Wynter suggested, referring to the horrible rain outside, which made Addison think.
"No, Eddie loves the rain." she mumbled. "Did anything happen over the weekend?" Willa asked, before the blonde realized why her friend wasn't at school. "Addison, what's wrong?" Zed asked. "Friday evening, she got a message from her mom, saying that her dad was home early and she left in a hurry. I haven't heard from her since." Addison explained.
"Come on. She may be hurt." Zed said before the whole group left school and made their way towards the house of their friend. "I hate rain!" Complained Wynter as they ran, but fell silent from the look Wyatt was giving her.
"Wait." Addison said as she stopped near Eddie's house. "What is it?" Willa asked. "We have to be careful if her dad's home." she told. "What's that?" Bree asked, pointing at something that was laying in the middle of the road. Zed sighed before walking over to the werewolf laying on the ground before laying down next to her.
"What are we looking at?" he asked her, trying to ignore the raindrops that was hitting his eyes. "My life. Grey and depressing." she answered. "And why is your life grey and depressing?" he asked. "Because I'll flunk Science and then I won't graduate, never go to collage and end up depressed and alone because I couldn't get a job without proper education." she answered, trying not to cry.
"Why are you flunking Science?" he asked. "Because I don't have a family. I have a mother, who has a husband. No family." she said. "You have us. We are your family." he said. She turned to look at him, before looking back up at the sky. "I'm not related to you, so you're not my family." she sighed.
"Eddie, a family is not someone you're related to, it's someone who makes you happy, who takes care of you and who's there for you whenever you need it." he told. Eddie sighed sadly as she continued to stare at the raining sky.
"Okay, look at it this way. The sky is your life. You have a bad life, your depressed and you feel like a raining sky constantly, right?" he started. "Is this supposed to make me feel better? Because if so, you suck at this." she said as she looked at him.
"Let me finish. The sky is your life. But do you see those tiny light appearing through the rain clouds?" he asked, pointing at the yellow lights that started to appear. "The tiny rays of sunshine?" Eddie asked. "Yeah, the tiny rays of sunshine. That, is us. We come in to your life and we do anything to make you happy and chase your rain clouds away." he explained.
"We are your tiny ray's of sunshine." he finished, just as it stopped raining. They both sat up before Eddie was attacked with a group hug from everyone. She looked at Zed, who smiled at her. "My tiny rays of sunshine." she smiled back at him before he joined the hug.

"I have the paper, Mr. Montgomery." Eddie smiled as she placed a small group of papers on his desk. "Wow, Ms. Hart." He smiled before looking at the paper. "But the assignment was about family." he said, referring to the fact that she had written about her friends. "Yeah, I know that. My friends are my family." she smiled.
"I'm proud of you, Ms. Hart." he smiled before dismissing her. "Guessing by that pretty smile, your paper was accepted." Wyatt smiled as he met her outside the classroom. "I'm just happy that I'm not flunking Science." she smiled before the pair made their way towards the rest of their friend group.
"Everything worked out in the end." Addison smiled at her best friend. "Everything always works out when I'm with you." she smiled before they gave her a group hug again. "Just me and my family." Eddie smiled, smiling as she looked around at all of her friends.
