I loved that sweet feeling of being with him.
I missed him... I really missed him.

And finally the week passed by. It was already Wednesday when I went dress shopping with Lexi for the prom. There were a lot of dresses that I literally fell in love with. Though, they definitely had their minuses.

The last dress I tried on was a medium red dress. It was long and clear without anything too distracting. It had some thin straps that would fall off my shoulder now and then but I didn't mind since I thought it looked nice.
The good thing about the dress was that it flattered my body so well. I felt so confident in it and I for sure knew that I was going to outshine most of the girls in the school.
Lexi chose the same dress as mine but in black and I really didn't mind us having the same dresses. Quite the opposite, I was actually excited that we would be kind of matching.

We left the store and made our way to get some heels since the outfit wouldn't be complete if we didn't have heels to go with the dress.
I really didn't have any heels at home since my mom hasn't been around and she literally left without leaving me anything. I didn't even like my mom that much so I'm pretty sure if she gave me a pair of shoes, I wouldn't have even looked at them.

After a lot of looking for the perfect heels, I finally chose some red ones to match my dress. Though, Lexi didn't want heels as tall as mine so she just decided to go in some sneakers since she couldn't find any other shoes that would look good.

So, we left the store and got on our way back home. Of course, we talked about how excited we were about the prom that was literally three days later.

"Do you have a date for the prom yet?" She asked me and for a second, I just wondered whether I should tell her about my date being Michael or keep it a secret. But after all, she was my best friend and I felt bad always lying to her so I told her.

"I do, actually. It's.. um.. Michael" I felt kind of weirded out to say it out loud to her. I thought she would react weirdly but she actually reacted pretty normally and of course, would start asking me irrelevant questions.

"Ooh, do you like him?" She asked with a made up voice as if she was mocking whatever.

"Wha-... umm.." I decided to stay silent for now and probably tell her some fake drama later. I mean, it was right that I liked Michael but I couldn't let her know so I just had to play it off.

"I can just feel the chemistry between you" She imagined a weird ship scenario of me and Michael being together and by the look of it, it seemed that she was excited "You can't tell me that you don't like each other when I can clearly see the way you look at one another"

"Ohh, come on!" I exclamed, testily "I know damn well you like Jason but you don't hear me tease you!"
I got quite annoyed but I tried to stay as calm as possible.

"Okayy... fine, I'll stop... For now.." She teased quite a bit more.

With that, I invited her over to my house so we could actually have the "girls time" alone.

---Time skip---

When we entered through the door, I saw my dad, sitting on the couch, finally resting from all this work. I took my shoes off and ran to hug him. I approached him and hugged him lovingly because I really didn't get to see him that much since Charlie died.

"Hi dad! What's up?" I questioned as I pulled him into that hug.

"Nothing much, really!" He answered, happily.

"I invited Lexi over.. she's going to stay here for the night" I announced to my father.

"Okay! Have fun!" And with that me and Lexi got up to my room and made the best of our experience.
