Chapter 27: It's Kate
Three weeks later, I woke up from a sleepless sleep. My phone was beeping from the pocket of my jeans, so I had to crawl out of bed and answer it.
"What?" I growled into the speaker.
"Jeez, remind me to never wake you up at...12 o'clock in the afternoon." My doorman laughed.
"Couldn't you have just told whoever it is to fuck off?" I groaned.
"No can do, Mister. She's too pretty to 'fuck off'."
"Who is it?"
He chuckled into the phone before I heard his voice speak the most magnificent five words ever.
"She says her name's Kate."
