" it's been a whole fuckin month bruh " i looked down at my phone checking for a text from tana for the millionth time. " does this mean we're done? "

" was y'all even together? " ty asked while grabbing something from my fridge.

" i don't know, i think so " i shrugged.

" you don't know where he live? " deja looked over at me.

" no, i've never been over there before "

" y'all ass was not together " i heard ty say as he sat down inbetween me and deja causing me to suck my teeth.

" maybe he going through something " deja suggested.

" do you think maybe it's cause i said we weren't together? "

" ty? " i heard my sister call out which made me look at her standing in the hallway by the living room.

" can you drop me off at the mall? "

over the past month, zariyah has gotten closer to all of us and even made a few friends. with school coming up in a couple months i'm glad she did.

" love you bookie " she kissed me on the cheek before closing the door and i locked it behind her. i flopped back down on the couch and started to scroll on doordash trying to find something to eat.

before deciding on panda express, i texted zariyah and asked what time she'd be ready to leave and she said ty was picking her up making me shake my head.

i started scrolling through tiktok when i heard a knock on my door.

" well that was fast " i mumbled before getting up to open the door without looking through the peephole. " i- tana? "

i looked at tana as i seen him standing in front of me with tears in his eyes and a bookbag on his back. he had a hoodie on so i couldn't too much see his face but his eyes were sort of red and there were bags under them.
