Tea time is a chance to slow down, pull back and appreciate our surroundings. - Letitia Baldrige
"Judy? Where are you?" I called out, looking around the Warren home with a tray in my hands.
It was winter time, more specifically, it was December, meaning that the temperatures would drop down to 43°F.
Ed and Lorraine went out for a bit of time for themselves, while I looked after Judy.
Giggles were heard behind the living room couch.
I smirked. Walking towards the small living room table and placed the tray down.
"Hmm... Where's Judy?" I said, tapping my cheek with my pointer finger, looking around everywhere but the couch.
"Rawr!!" Judy yelled jumping from behind the couch.
"Gah!!" I screamed, making my body shudder as if I was scared.
"Oh big beast! You have frightened me so!" I exclaimed placing my hand on my chest, right above my heart.
"My heart can not handle such fear and terror!" I yelled dropping myself to the floor. "You, mighty beast, have slain the the brave warrior of this land! Now I must part to the afterlife!"
I made my body go limp and stuck my tongue out to indicate death.
"OOF!" My breath got knocked out of me as Judy's body slammed against my stomach.
"Come on! You're too young to die!" Judy laughed.
"Judy, my little ghost, my body is old as your grandparents'."
"But you're only in your mid 30's!"
"And yet my spine tells another story." I murmured.
"Come on! I've made some tea to warm us up!" I exclaimed, getting up and sat back down on the floor close to the small table where the tray was.
The tray consisted of three tea cups and a teapot.
"Um, sis, why are there three tea cup when there are just the two of us?" Judy asked, pointing at each one.
"Hey, Big Mama!!" The spirit exclaimed happily, wrapping their arm around my shoulders.
"Hello, El." I said, pouring tea for each cup. "And I told you to stop calling me that."
He completely ignored my comment as he greeted Judy. "Hello, lil' lady!!" He patted the top of her head. Judy giggled as he sat near us where the third cup was.
"Wait, but aren't you a spirit now, you know you can't drink or eat anymore?" Judy asked.
"He insisted on joining us when I was preparing the tea." I poured the tea in each cup.
"Plus I get to spend time with you! I've got nothing else to do!" He exclaimed happily. "Even though ya'll are the only ones that can see my loansum ass..."
"Language! Children are present!!" I barked, placing my plams on top of Judy's ears.
"Sorry!" He yelped raising his hands in surrender.
"I swear, if she picks up on your type of language you'd be granting yourself a second death!" Grabbing the tea spoon and pointing at him threateningly.
"Won't do it again, promise!" He quickly yelled.
"Good!" Releasing Judy from my grasp, I grabbed a tea cup and took a sip.
"Sis, can you even touch spirits?" Judy asked, tilting her head at me. "And do you think it's safe for you to talk to them? Won't they follow you around when they find out you can see them?"
"Yeah, it's best that I keep quiet and low about it, I learned that the hard way and I see the consequences of my actions almost every day..." I grumbled, remembering the spirit that kept bothering me almost every day.
"Talking about me, my dear∼?" Isla's echoing voice rang out.
"I swear I'll send you back to hell faster then that demon ever could!" I said throwing my cup at her translucent figure.
"That was not very nice..."
