Uh... About the Sabah Claim.

Just gonna make this as short as possible.

The Philippines and Malaysia is having a really big fight on Sabah claim, if I'm not mistaken. Well, we [Filipinos] do have completely legitimate rights to Sabah. This was created in 1658 by the Brunei Sultanate [Sulu Sultanate] in thanks/compensation for the help of the Filipinos to the Bruneians in the latter's civil war. The territory was just leased to the British North Borneo Company and Sulu's sovereignity over Sabah was, not surprisingly (maybe) wasn't given up. Ever.

But. I'm not here to tell you who owns the territory completely.

Please don't be offended by this.

Now, track the roots back to Bangsamoro. It all started when Filipino-Muslims became victims of economic neglect and land-grabbing by the (official) Philippine Government. They started a revolution, saying they want to govern by their own rules, in this case Islamic Republic. This is why ARMM (Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao) was created, as a sort of "testing ground" if the government will work out, whilst still being monitored by the official Government of the Philippines. Well, the "experiment" failed, but the Government did nothing to help support it. President Noynoy Aquino is now pushing the Bangsamoro, but nothing's happening because because the Government continues to ignore the demands of the people in Mindanao, so consequently, the rebellion continues. So, in short, ARMM might look like it has its own government, but the actual governors of it are still mere pets of the Officials, so the original requests, the original demands, the orinigal pleas of the Filipino-Muslims were never heard or even supported by the Official Government.

Currently the descendants of the Sultanate of Sulu are now trying to get back what's rightfully theirs-- the Sabah territory. I heard that this resulted in the death of 12 innocent men. This would have never even happened if the Government listed the rebels and supported the claim of the Sabah territory. If the Philippine government just made diplomatic talks to the Malaysian government, there would be no need for a standoff.

The Philippines does have legitimate claims over Sabah. And if we were as defensive as we were during the Chinese' claim over the Panatag Shoals and Spratly's Islands, then there would be no argument at all. Hell, I'm even thinking WHY AREN'T WE GIVING A BLOODY DEMON-SUMMONING FROGHOPPING HORSEFUCKING SHITDRIPPING FUCK ABOUT THIS?!?!?!

You might call me racist for this, but the answer is US Imperialism. The US needs a pretty fucking good excuse for deploying warships against China. And since my country's government is basically a US pet, they're pushing claims and ignoring issues that are pending to be accepted once this issue is resolved.

And it is true that Sabah is officially a part of the Philippines, and Malaysia is paying rent for it to the Sulu Sultanate. Sabah isn't just a piece of land that can be given to one country to another, it is important to those who are living there. It is a home for people who want to be governed under Malaysian Government, and we have no right to tell them to not do so. So the people of Sabah don't want to be governed under our Government!

And they have good reasons. For many years, until Bangsamoro framework was made, Muslims were long negelcted by Philippine Government. They became independent from National Government because of that framework.

Forcing the Filipino-Muslims to leave Sabah is stupid, and forcing them to surrender? Even stupider than kicking Hitler out fo art school (not kidding). These people, they promised to die for their rights, and nothing can stop them from doing so, especially a government that doesn't give a flying fuck about them.

This could have been prevented if 1. The president and his cabinet officers supported their campaign instead of spending all their money on some bullshit congress campaign, and 2. spread the word to International Agencies, ie ICJ, UN, even ASEAN. Although ASEAN's current chair is Brunei, Brunei can bring a stop to this, or at least give a truce offer.

Regardless, the Palace made its stand. If they order Kiram to surrender will either bring peace or not, time will tell. The spark of the long-dormant frustration of Filipino-Muslims started because of our ignorance, and they're the ones paying for it. And if the Bangsamoro framework remains a draft or framework and not a real form of government, I expect the Philippines to lose not only Sulu but the entire Bangsamoro to other predominantly Muslim countries.

End of discussion. I know some of you have been offended, but please, don't be. This is the point of view of a person who knows just a little about it, and have done some research about it. Just please, support them. They deserve nothing near this kind of neglect.
