Introduction

Author's Preamble

So, I first need to explain that this isn't a story, at least not a regular one. It's more like... a fictional history and a series of OC profiles. So, if you don't like that kind of thing, then you don't have to stick around.

So, if you've looked around on my DeviantArt (which I'll shorten to Devi from here), you'll know I like my Gizoids. Gizoids are robots from the Sonic universe, specifically Sonic Battle, Sonic Advance 3, and Sonic Chronicles. They are highly advanced combat androids with the capability to copy the abilities of those they fight. I am fascinated with these things, so I have begun to draw a lot of them.

Now, I started by drawing (and still do) Gizoid Imitators, which are various characters from different games and other series, which I draw as Gizoids, but what's important here are the original Gizoids I draw, robot characters I put a lot of thought into. I come up with designs, abilities, personalities, and more for these Gizoids, but all of that is put in as a summary of the description, and well... I have begun to feel that it isn't enough.

I do write OC profiles for my non-Gizoid OCs on my Devi, but never considered my Gizoid Originals as anything more than art pieces, at least at first. But now, I want to do more, especially to go into detail.

I was also, in my head, coming up with a story for these Gizoids (my Gizoid Originals specifically. I don't have the same plans for my Imitators, probably because they are technically existing characters). And well, it's not a full story, but more of a story synopsis, a history that also set up further journeys. I have no interest in writing a full story, just something to create the world I came up with in my head... And I can work with that.

So, I came up with this, the Gizoid Archives. A place to explain the abilities, characters, and personal stories for my Gizoid OCs.

But first, I need the greater story / history that all these Gizoids share, and their culture, of sorts, which will be done in this "chapter". In the next "chapter", I'll go over the basic abilities of the Gizoids, and then, we'll get into the individual Gizoids.

But before we get started, some important info. First, this does take place in Sonic's world. But I didn't Sonic and his friends to be involved, especially considering how I end this history. So, this new generation of Gizoids was made over a thousand years after Sonic's time, which means that would also take place after Silver's future, which was only 200 years after Sonic's time. So, none of them are around to be involved, much less responsible for what will happen.

And before we go to the next important info, no, time travel was not considered, like Silver would've used. This was done for several good reasons, the biggest one will make itself apparent soon.

I should also bring up Shadow the Hedgehog. Supposedly, he is immortal and unaging, but well... I've never really liked that idea. The idea of never dying, while everyone you cared for passes away and leaves due to the passage of time... it's too depressing to me. Not to mention, Shadow has already gone through much hardship and the loss of loved ones. So instead, I went for the idea that he has aged much slower, probably lived for several hundred years, but has also passed.

The same idea, however, doesn't bother me as much with robots, who also have the potential to last forever. I don't know why exactly I feel that way, but I do have this idea of robots, even the most human-like ones, finding their purpose in life, and when it's done, they start a new journey. So, robots and AI, like Omega, Gemerl, and even Sage might still be around in this time. Heck, Gemerl, an Eggman-built Gizoid, was used as the basis to create the new Gizoids.

Now, onto the second important thing, these Gizoids Originals are art pieces that I still draw, so I come out with new ones every so often. Many Gizoids that I haven't made yet, as in drawn and finished detailing, are important to the story. Now, I want you guys to be surprised with the new Gizoids I make, so I am going to name any Gizoid that comes up in the story, but hasn't been released yet, as "[REDACTED]", to hide their name until they come out. Then, I'll come back to edit in their names once they come out.
