Cobalt has managed to obtain an accurate energy signature for Hyper-Go-Ons, the life energy of the alien race of Wisps. Wisps can turn into energy and fuse an organic or inorganic being, transforming them temporarily, until the Wisp runs out of power to give and gets exhausted.
With his Gizoid abilities and running simulations inside his Capture Drive, Cobalt became capable of completely analyzing Hyper-Go-Ons to the most minute detail, and forming new abilities from that. His energy conversion allows him to synthesize Hyper-Go-On energy without the need to actually use the Wisps (which is useful, because Cobalt generally doesn't encounter Wisps, not since initially Capturing their abilities), but, even with only one color power Captured, his analysis of the energy allows him to develop the other color powers, without needing to Capture them from other Wisps.
Cobalt refers to a full transformation of the color powers as a "complete energy-infusion", fully generating energy to infuse into himself and engage the transformation. But Cobalt actually prefers not to engage in the full transformations, or rather, energy-infusions.
First of all, constant transformations would drain his energy too fast, and second, Cobalt prefers to generate smaller, more controlled amounts of energy to enhance his base abilities, or form projectiles or other constructs, all so he can fight more directly. Although, there are exceptions for certain color powers, when the situation calls for a complete infusion, and sometimes, partial infusions are useful, too.
Since Cobalt generates the Hyper-Go-Ons himself, and due to their transformative, energy-based nature, he is able to make himself completely immune to his own abilities. With this, he can use dangerous powers with no risk to himself, save for environmental dangers. However, if he is fighting alongside some allies, it's more difficult to give them the same immunity, so he instead votes on being far more careful when fighting in a group.
Finally, Cobalt has developed multiple Skills, maybe more, for each known color power, which adds up to 17 currently known colors. He even has Skills combining the powers of two colors into a single stronger Skill, which he refers to as Color Combos.
It is also worth remembering that Gizoids can only use a set amount of the Skills they have Captured, that they have configured for use. And they can't reconfigure their Skills in the middle of battle. This applies to all of Cobalt's color powers, so he can't have access to all of his color-based Skills at once. But, he has found that configuring matching Hyper-Go-On Skills of a specific color compound makes each matching take up less space.
Even still, Cobalt's color powers give him the greatest variety of abilities out of any Gizoid, all under the same single source. He is one the hardest fighters to read, as you never know what he has prepared.
White Boost
This is the absolute purest form of Hyper-Go-On energy. This energy is primarily a positive form of energy, but it is the most incompatible with negative Hyper-Go-On (listed further below), and is actually close to a neutral form of energy, making this the jumping-off point for Cobalt to develop other Hyper-Go-On abilities.
White Boost is also unique as it has no transformation. ...Not that Cobalt would enable a full transformation in the first place, but this makes this an easy power for him to use.
- Speed Boost:
White Boost is generally known for enhancing speed, or at least providing energy to increase speed. And this is something Cobalt makes great use of, so he can rush toward opponents or speed around them before they hit him first.
- Power Boost:
Cobalt has also figured out to use Boost to increase his power and strength, allowing him to hit harder, and block heavy attacks (by the means of grabbing weapons mid-swing. Cobalt finds this efficiently intimidating to foes flaunting their strength).
