Nina Casanova.

The name of the beautiful brunette had reverberated throughout the room, calling the girl to acknowledge her presence. Corinne sat there, biting her fingernail, not opening her mouth to confess Nina's whereabouts.

Nina had pleaded with her best friend that she wouldn't say anything about where she was going. While Mrs. Whitman's eyes surveyed the room, awaiting the brunette to be flushed and repeating her apologies for being so late.

But, she wasn't there and Mrs. Whitman still called upon students, thinking that Nina would come eventually.

Nina couldn't believe what she was doing.

Not only was she going to miss the bus trip back to Arcata, but also she was bringing Kieran into her mess and driving her and him back to their town. Google said it would take about ten hours to arrive in her quaint town and now she was regretting visiting the cliff.

But, while she crouched in front of her father's grave, all she could feel was the depression that her mother had endured over all these years. A picture, taped to a bouquet of flowers that looked like brand new, of her father had taken her view. His tousled brown hair that she got from him hung in front of his eyes, but you could see the baby blues of his iris.

Nina had never seen a picture of her father since her mom couldn't bear with anything that consisted him. Nina's mom was too heartbroken to notice that one of her two daughters never really met their father, just faint memories of a lean man that had the largest smile on his face.

Nina didn't notice that she was crying, at first, but when she did, they came down faster and harder. Kieran sat far away from her, studying on a concrete bench, and tried to not sneak a peak of his long-time crush. But, then he heard the small, hushed sobs coming out of Nina.

Her eyes were becoming red and puffy from crying so much and Kieran noticed that she must have been crying this whole time while he did nothing. He wanted to go walk over and comfort her, but yesterday was the only day that Nina had even talk to her.

Kieran couldn't help himself but put pity on the girl. Everybody knew that Mr. Casanova died in the military and the two daughters of his were only so young that they didn't really have a proper father. He was stationed in Iraq while Nina was learning how to walk and her little sister, Jaime, wasn't even born yet.

Nina wanted a wall to separate her and Kieran because frankly she was suppose to be a strong girl who didn't really rely on her emotions. She cried in private and rarely raised her voice. While she cried her heart out, Kieran sat there and wanted to reach his hand out to comfort her.

After several silent moments, Nina stood up from her father's grave and tried to wipe away the tears that had poured from her eyes. She dropped a single white rose on her father's grave before walking away from where her mother and father fell in love.
