"Keep your hands up!" Pain. Nothing but pain. "Bend your knees! Lower! Lower brat!" It feels like my body is falling apart. Fore. I count fore. "Don't start shaking you weakling! You will stay like this until you stop shaking!" I get Lower and take in a deep breath. I ralease it as I feel a sharp pain in my stumic but I don't move. I don't show anything. "Thing your hot shit huh?!" More pain. I show nothing. I feel nothing. I straighten my arms as I reach out with my mind and slowly start to focus on the mind. "You will fail! You hear me! You'll never get anywhere!" I feel...desperation. thier desperate. The pain fades away as I open my eyes and feel completely diffrent. "What's this?" I feel...I feel like I can kill. "It seems like the brats ready for something!" I take in a deep breath and let it go as I don't feel anything. I don't feel any pain but...I'm feeling something I haven't felt in a long time. "What's going on?!" Thier confused. Deporation and confusion. "Subject 0076264. You will commence the last stage of this training." I take in a deep breath as the lights turn off and instantly rush for the shadows. Stay quiet. The lights turn on as I sense thier fear. I quickly remove the weights and gently set them down along with the weapon. I don't need it. "Where is he?!" Good. "What the hell is going on?!" I rush to the right as one of the men turns on a light and shines it on the weights and weapons. "He's escaped! He left his weapon though!" The man approuches the pile as the others stay in the light. I rush the man and land a crushing blow, instantly knocking him out. I reveal in his loss as I hope it was painful. I grab the flash light and throw it as one of the other men as I lights go out again and I rush another and take him down. I quickly drag his body to the shadows as the lights flicker back on as I reach out with my mind again as the other two are shrouded in fear. It feel good. It's tatses...good. I slowly search the man's body and find a picket knife as I pull it out and slowly stand up. "This isn't possible! He's just a young brat but he's already tearing us apart!" I close my mind to them. "I can't sense him anymore! That's impossible!" I don't need psyonic training for this simple trick. Their easy to read however. I look up at the lights as I turn and rush the wall as I use it to push myself up as I use the hard handle of the knife to take out of the the two bearly functioning lights as the other two start flickering as I land infront of the two remaining men. They back away as I straighten up. "That's it! Cut the training! Get us out of here!" I flip the knife as I hold the blade and slowly approuch the men as they back away. The oights flicker again as I throw the knife at one of the men as it gets lodged into his shoulder as I rush the other man and land a blow on his neck as he instantly falls to his knees as the other one finally hits the ground. I plant my hand Fermly on the man's head as I force him to look up at me as I raise my fist. "Your nothing..." I let head go as I strike him as he falls back. I look at the other man as he pulls the blade out of his shoulder and gets up. I rush him as I grab his wrist and neck as I break his wrist and punch his stumic as he quickly falls to his knees. I let his neck go as grab his head and bring it down onto my right knee as he bounces off and onto the wall. "Very good 007." I calm down as I retrace my steps and finaly figure out how to flip that switch the door opens as a fremilier figure walks in as every light but the one I busted turns on. "This was your first try on this test and you passed. And again, you move up and leave another group behind." I face the man as I look at my bloody knuckles. "It also looks like you figured out how to control that rage." I remeber. "It's time you begin your psyonic training. We've picked up your abilities durring this training session and it's clear your growing stronger every day." He kneels down infront of me as I feel pressure on my face. "Wake up." I shake my head as I open my eyes to see a fremilier face. "Wake up man! You can't be getting lazy now!" I get out of bed and quickly straighten out my bed to perfection. I quickly rushes over to the line as it's bearly even two feet away from my bunk as I can sense someone comming. I also hear laughter comming from my left as I remain at attention. "You idiot!" I glance at the door as I see it slowly opening as that's where the anger is comming from. Alot of people luagh loudly as the door slowly swings open as I see a drill Sargent peering in as we lock eyes. I go to parade rest as I keep my eyes locked on him as he smiles. Everyone is obvious. "How could you fall for something like that?! We don't get up for another 3 hours!" I can see three more drill sargents however, I can see the commander standing behind all of them. My eyes stay trained on all of them as the drill sargents start to shuffle around as the commander gets ready to walk in as all of them fix thier attention onto me. I stay at parade rest until the commander walks in. "Leave him alone Simon. You've done enough this morning." I see one of the drill sargents heads jump up as soon as he hears his name as I taps the commander on the shoulder. The commander nods his as the drill walks in. "At ease!" My shout echos throughout the bay as everyone shuts up and goes to parade rest. "At least one of you is paying attention." He moves to the middle of the bay as I keep my eyes on the door. The other drill sargents walk in as the start to slowly patrol around the bay. "Just so you know, we weren't going to come in if you kept the lights off." The drill Sargent looks at the bay boss. I can feel his fear. He's timid and sky but gets the job done. "You look like you just woke up." He takes in a deep breath as bay boss forces his body to wake up. I see the commander move to stand in the door way. "You look tired trainee. You just woke up to didn't you?" The fear is growing. We have one week left. One more range day and we were done. "Yes drill Sargent. D-did I miss toe the line?" The drill Sargent chuckles. "You did not, trainee. One of your platoon mates decided to turn 3 in the morning to toe the line. We accualy had plans to wake you up at 7 in the monring." Anger. It replaces the fear. I hear chuckling. It's Simon. Why does he always end up next to me. "Who just chuckled?! Who the hell just chuckled?!" The senor drill Sargent rushes over as two more follow closely behind as I straighten my eyes and keep still. "Whitch one of you chuckle nuts just luaghed?! You think it's funny to wake up your platoon this early for no goddamn reason?!" I remain stoic as Simon struggles to hold in his laughter. He's not filled with fear or anger. He's filled with amusement. The senor drill Sargent gets close to me as his nose is an inch away from mine but I stay where I am. "You laughing at me trainee?" He keeps a stone face as he tries to stair me down but I don't even blink. "No senor drill Sargent." He blinks as he's suprised at how cold my awnser is. "Like half of my platoon mates, I just woke up. To a lackluster prank." He takes a step back. He's confused. "Your saying that this. This right here...was a prank?" He points at the lights. "Yes senor drill Sargent. Whoever planned this prank clearly dosnt know how to think, senor drill Sargent." He chuckles as he looks at Simon who's smiling and knows it. "You laughing at him trainee?" I look at the door as commander is tapping his foot. "Get down! Get down right now trainee!" I hear a slam as the commander takes a step into the door. "Attention!" Everyone goes to attention as I do. "Good morning sir! I apologize on my platoons behalf for being ate up!" He pouses before he gets the middle of the room. "Carry on." We return to parade rest. "Gets down now trainee! Get down before I beat you into the front leaning rest!" Simon breaks as he starts laughing. "You think laughing at the commander is okey?! What the hell are you thinking?!"
"Are you kidding me trainee?!"
"Get up! Get up right now!" Simon quickly gets up before laughing more. "I didn't say get up! Get down!"
"Get up right now!"
"Get down! Are you seriously ecnoring and order from a drill Sargent?! I will have your ass mounted on your bed in three seconds trainee!" The commander sighs. His blue decorated outfit tells me that he's more experionced than most soldiers. What's else can I expect from the raiders. "That's enough." The drill sargents instantly back away as he approuches Simon. His presents is commanding. It's nothing like what I've seen before this. "What's your mouthfunction trainee?" His low but cold voice makes me tilt my head. He's quite and calm. Simon tries to straighten up and go to attention but fails. "Are you ecnoring a direct question from your commander trainee?" I can feel his humor is quickly draining as all of the drill sargents are around him as the commander is an inch away from his nose. I turn my head as everyone is staring at him. "What is your major mouthfunction trainee? If you don't give me an awnser in 5 seconds, you'll will be in so much pain that you'll be in sick call for weeks." He's serius to. 5. Simon begins to sweet as he stops chuckling. 4. "Now trainee." 3. "Stop blowing your commander off." 2. "I..." 1. "I wasn't laughing at you sir." His fear has taken over. I straighten my head as he plans on blaming me. The commander knows this to. He knows Simon will blame someone for this. "It was sheep sir! I laughing at sheep becuase I couldn't believe he would come up with something this bad sir!" There it is. I look at Simon as he's staring at me as on of the of the drill sargents are to. "You will stay at the position of attention while your commander is speaking to you trainee!" Simon reforms as he's praying this will work. Senor drill Sargent slowly walks around them as he approuches me. I fully face him as he looks at me seriously. "Really?" He asked. "Yes sir! He planned all of this!" Senor drill Sargent smiles as I stare at Simon. "Everyone, go back to bed. This doesn't involve you." The commander looks to his right as everyone is stunned. "Go on. This is between us." Everyone starts to losen up and move back to thier beds as I sense a fremilier presence. "What are you doing borry?" I keep my eyes on Simon as the commander looks at me with a smile. "You can go back to bed to sheep. You've suffered enough becuase of this asshole." I snap back as I look at senor drill Sargent. He's thinking about how I know they were comming up. "You can rest sheep." I slowly losen up as I look to my left and see borry as she grabs my hand. I look back at senor drill Sargent as he looks at borry. "You can talk to him later today borry. I've got a few questions for him." Borry let's my hand go instantly as she takes a step back. "Y-yes drill Sargent. I'm sorry this happened again." He shakes his head. "It's not the last." Speaking from experionce. I look at borry as she walks back to the other side of the bay. "Follow me sheep." I look at senor drill Sargent as I turns around and looks at the commander. He looks at senor drill Sargent and nods. He turns around as he starts walking to the back of the bay as I follow. We leave the bay as he closes the door behind us as I stop at the stares and turn around. "Looks like Simon's pissed off the colonel for the last time." He faces me as he leans agenst the wall. "He did. This is the fifth time he's done this." I look at the clock as it really is 3 in the morning. "You don't seem fazed though." I look at senor. "Guess I've just gotten used to it." This reminds me of back then. Stayed up for a few weeks becuase of training. 'All apart of the mental training'. "I don't think so. I've seen that look before." I can't read his mind anymore. He's closed me off. He approuches me as I look at him. "I've seen that look on spec ops people sheep." He's serious. "Who or what are you sheep? You've bearly even broken a sweet the past few months and no matter how hard we've tried, you've bearly shown any emotion while you've been here." I focus on his kind as I break through his mental conditioning. "I figured you were a psyonic. Every time I just stand close to you, I just feel something in the back of my mind." He's thinking that I was apart of some dominion experiment. "I wasn't some experiment." He knows about my abilities so I can't hide it anymore. Damnit. I wanted to hide it to until I signed up for the ghost program. "Then what are you sheep? You could have scored perfect on all of the ranges but you held back, you could max out the PT scores but you didn't and the only time I even see you flinch or show any emotion is when your around borry. Who are you sheep?" He wants to make sure the admiral is informed about me tommorow. "I'd rather not talk about it." I look away as his curiosity is replaced with frustration. "If your not going to tell me then I want you to do something for me." Wierd. I look at him with curiosity. "This afternoon at the rang, I want you to go all out with your rifle." He put emphasis on 'your'. "As your aware, mostly ghosts use thier left hands as their firing hand but you also hold that rifle like those spectors." How does he know all of this. "How do you know so much about psy ops?" He closes his mind. I have to retreat from him mind. "Kid, I've been apart of rayners raiders ever since he kicked his revolution up on Mar Sara a few years ago. I've seen the revolution, the sworms invasion and the end war. I know what ghosts can do and I'm very aware of what spectors are capable of. Aspecialy the spectors that were produced by project shadowblade." He knows? He notes my reaction before shaking off the suprise. "I figured the dominion would have put you in some sort of program when you were young." It clicks for him. "I was for a time. Then valerian took over and scrubbed most of the systems. Alot of us didn't last a week on the streets before being shot by the police durring some sort of misunderstanding on the streets of korhal." He takes a step back after letting his arms fall. "Then I'll stop push that. But why did you join the raiders? What's your goal?" At least this one is easy. The commander walks out along with the other drill sargents. Simon's still in the bay. "If that boy causes anymore trouble for you, let me know. I'll make sure he's straightened up real quick." I go to attention. "Yes sir." He waves his hand at me, tell me to relax. "My goal is to finish what was started for me a long time ago. Guess it's the ego talking this time." They don't need to know I want to be a ghost. A ghost that does good insteed of a feared spector chopped up on terazine and thirsts for blood. "What's your rank?" I look to see the commander has also taken an interest. "And not the rank you have now. The one you had after you departure?" I take in a deep breath as I'm tired and want to yet this over with. "Before I left, I was a full bird colonel." They all take a step back as they look at the commander. "What?" I straighten up. "Can I be dismissed for light out sir?" He looks at me with confusion as all of them are scared. "Y-yes...you may." I head for the door as I feel a hand hit my shoulder as I stop and turn around to see one of the drill sargents sweeting but calm. Well...for the most part. "The admiral of the rayners raiders fleet will be at the range tommorow." He lowers his hand's as this is new. "What are you doing kachinsky?" He waves off the others. "If you really were apart of the dominion training programs, then I want you to put on a show tommorow." I dig into his mind as I tilt my head in confusion. "This doesn't leave this spot." He straightens up. "Admiral Han has been looking for ghost canadates for high risk missions. You prove yourself tommorow, you'll have a one way ticket out of this place with your rank and a golden ticket to the ghost program, if you want to do that." That exactly what I wanted to hear. "What do you say?" He holds out his hand as I have an idea. "I'll do it under one condition, if it's allow sir." He looks at me with suprise in his eyes. "There's an old canister rifle in the armery I've knowtised but nobody seems to want to pay any attention to it." They all take a step back. "If I can get that rifle, clean it and get an optic, I'll give you your 'show'." The commander takes a moment as a million things run through his mind. "I don't know if we can do that."
"Why that weapon specifically?"
"Do we even have functioning optics for that rust bucket?"
"Every one settle down!" Everyone pouses as the commander looks at me. "That rifle belonged to a ghost who fight for the ground were standing on. It's a memorial for his sacrifice." He gives me a stern look. "Then it would be a good gift to the dead if I cleaned it and made sure it was still servesable. Ghosts always make sure ether weapons can be used in a split second." His mind is wide open. "Wouldn't it also be more impressive if a 'trainee' knows how to use a old weapon like that, use it to its peak performance, and clean it and make it look like it just came off of the belt?" They'll pouse. Being trained to ge a spector, I learned the ghosts equipment inside and out. I also know exactly what parts are used in the weapon, along with how to clean it and reassemble it to make it function better. "You better put on one hellva show tommorow. Your lucky were going to the active combat simulation rang tommorow to." He takes in a deep breath. "But if I do this, you have to follow my conditions if you fail." Intresting. "If you fail, you'll restart basic training without your rank and you'll go from this platoon to the reapers platoon." A nice change of pace. At least they'll give me some semblance of a challenge. "Done." I shake the drill sargents hand. "I'll have the weapon out for you by 6. You'll have that weapon cleaned to slandered and the optic installed by 1300. You'll also be the last trainee to run the guetlet and it'll be on the hardest difficulty." Good. "I wouldn't have it any other way sir." I smile a bit as they look worried. "Your dismissed." I turn around and open the door as I take a step inside. "And sheep." I pouse. "I'm expecting perfect results." I turn my head slightly. "If it's perfect you want, I'll give you more than perfect." I walk in as the door closes and I go to my bunk after turning the lights off. I lay down in my bed as I can't help but smile. "What is it sheep?" I close my eyes. "Something big." I losen up as I feel my mind wonder.
