I stand as everyone is ready to fight each other. "I did not come here to be questions terran." Warfield raises her rifle. "You will awnser all of my questions. Why are you here? Are you the one unleashing the feral zerg on us?!" Nakara is one second away from spiking her. "Enough!" Kalas walks forward. He's been silent this whole time while those two scream at eachother. "Lower your weapon, commander." Kalas approuches nakara. "I do not know why you are here or why general sheep has lead you here but I fear we are out of options." Warfield lowers her rifle. "We will do just fine without her help!" I take a step forward. "Warfield." She looks at me as I return the stern look. "It isn't easy but we need stick togeather." Kalas lowers himself. "Nakaras been fighting the zerg here longer than we have and she just lost her whole brood to those things. Don't you know what that means?" Warfield takes a moment. "This brood is coordinated. There must be another here controlling them." Nakara seems suprised. "That is impossible. If another brood mother was here, I would know."
"It's not another brood mother or just feral zerg rampaging across this rock. There's something out there trying to control the brood but it's unstable. It doesn't have full control witch is why the they stop attacking after a while." Warfields finaly following along. She's just like her father. "It cannot be protoss either. We would be able to sense thier presence." The taldarim don't have use for a random brood of feral zerg either. "That only leaves one thing. It must be terrans trying to control zerg once again." That I'm not to sure on. "I don't think so." We've been here long enough to know if it was. "It is was then we would have picked up a signal from a hive mind emulater or phy emitter by now. On top of that...the signals wouldn't be as chaotic as they are." Kalas gives me a suprised look. "You sensed it to?" So he did sense it. "Yeah. I sensed it alright." I look at nakara. "If you don't know, hive kind emulators mimic your hive mind but on a stronger frequency. It's what allows us to control zerg for a while. It wears off though. Whatevers trying to control this brood, it's strong but it's not strong enough to retain full control for long periods of time." I look at kalas. "I dismissed it at first but maybe the taldarim are trying to pull something again. Their still pissed off about the defenders of man stuff so maybe their trying to get revenge." Thay would explain the chaotic waves of energy we've been feeling. "Maybe. Even so, they would retain control. We would all be dead if the taldarim asserted control." That is true. "It must be amon." Everyone freezes. "But...he's dead. That was made very clear years ago." That would also explain the chaotic nature of all this. "That can't be it. All of his servants were either killed or released form his control." The more I think about it...the chaotic nature of these energy waves are simular to his dominating energy that control everything he Commanded. It's alot like the void energies to. "Maybe remnants of his most loyal followers? Maybe a pocket of mobius we missed?" Maybe. That would explain why I'm not able to sense everything. "I am being blocked when the zerg attack to. I can read their minds like normal zerg and see who's giving commands. I can't even sense where the main hive it." Nakara looks at me. "I know where the hive of the fallen are." Everyone looks at nakara. "How do you know about that?" Nakara lowers her head as she remeber what happened to her brood. "I sought revenge for my brood. I attack thier hive cluster but I failed." Warfield nearly drops her rifle. "Then let's go get them. The zerg out there have gone feral so we can attack now and end this here and now." I look at warfield. "That's a no go." Warfield looks at me. "Why not?" I can sense the energy wrapping around again. It's trying to gain control again. "Feral zerg aren't coordinated. They rely on their hives and overlords to give out commands and survive. We attack and we'll just be overwhelmed in seconds." I'm starting to get blocked again. "We should lision to sheep. The fallen brood maybe be feral for now but whatever is trying to control them will regain control again soon. It is only a matter of time before they attack again." We have to play this game safe. "I fear you are right. We must wait. I've summond my fleet here and they will arrive within 3 rotations." I don't know if we have that much time. "And the dominion fleet won't get here in time either. Long story short, we're screwed." Nakara does know their main hive. "Do we have any nukes?" Everyone looks at me. "Why are you asking me that right now?" I look at nakara. "If I can find their main hive, I can drop a nuke or two to slow them down. That might just give the time we need." All of them are surprised. "Even IF you can pull it off, we don't have the ships to get you out of there if things go south." I chuckle. "Guess it's a good think I'm trained for suicide missions." Warfield isn't happy about that. "We can't afford to lose someone like you. We need every ounce of manpower we can get." I look at warfield. "I'm an infutraiter warfield. I can get in there and disrupt them long enough to get reinforced. We need that time to get our reinforcements and give nakara the time to rebuild her brood. Without all of us being at our best, we do NOT have the power to attack them head on, let alone survive long enough to wait for them to attack us at full strength." Warfield plants her foot down. "No. I will not let you do this. It's way to dangerous." I can help but smile under my mask. "He is right commander." We look at kalas. "It may be dangerous but we must utilize everything we have. Even if it means we may lose some of our most valuable people." Kalas doesn't like this either. "It's a desperation move but from where I'm standing, whoever or whatever is trying to control this brood is desperate to. We have to strike when their at their most vulnerable." I'm completely blocked off now. The zerg are gathering again. "It's only a matter of time before we're all killed. We must act soon." Damn. This isn't good. "General. The zerg are regrouping but they do not appear to be attacking." That's good. "Where are they now?" My visor lowers. "Their roaming around. It appears they've lost our location." Good. Let them use their energy. "Okey. After control is lost, I'm moving out. The longer we let them roam out there, better our chances are." Everyone's concerned. I don't know why. This isn't the first time I've done something like this. "You don't seem concerned for your own safty, terran." Everyone looks at me. "I've faced worse." Kalas give me a suprised look. "How so?" I look at kalas. "The taldarim." His eyes widen. "You've faced taldarim before?" I nod. I remeber the fights. "Those blood hunters aren't something to scoff at." Warfields frozen. Ironic. "Then I can assume you will succeed then?" I look at nakara. "I'll figure something out." I look at warfield. "Just make sure those nukes are primed. We'll only have one chance at this." Warfield pulls herself togeather. "You can't do this alone."
"We don't have the power to split up." She's trying to come up with something. "I may have a solution but it won't be pleasant." I look at kalas. "After the end war, alorak allowed the taldarim to join us without consequence and some did follow us." What? "I have a group of blood hunters who will aid us." Kalas looks at me with a worried look. "They will aid you at my command." What the hell?! I hoped I would deal with them ever again. "My hive cluster has not grown yet. I cannot aid you this time terran." I look at warfield. "I don't have any ghosts in my ranks and the troops I do have can't help. We're to exhausted." Damn. I look at kalas. "Fine." Kalas lowers his head. "If they stab me in the back, they won't come back." Kalas nods. "They will follow our command. Fortunately they have calmed down. I'll summon them here." I look at nakara. "How long do you need to get your hive up and get your brood out again?" Nakara lowers her head a little bit. "3 hours." Great. "What?! Why will it take so long?! The zergs taken whole planets in 3 hours!" I look at warfield. "My brood was broken, terran! I have lost most of my broods strains to those ferals and cannot recreate them. I must find them again to assimilate them back into my brood." Great. Now she's pissed. "Seems like a design flaw if you ask me." Now I'm getting mad. "You have no idea the threat your facing tarren. The brood we face steals essence and blocks me from creating more. It's as if the very zerg we face can erase it from our gene pool." Everyone freezes. I look at nakara. "What do you mean by 'erase'?" Nakras an open book right now. She knows her strains. It's a complete Bible in her head but even she can't make them. She's knows how to but somethings littarly blocking it. "The attack you survived. How close did they get to killing you?" Nakara lowers her head in shame. "To close i fear. The Meer fact you appeared when you did saved my life. A moment before I would be apart of that brood." I look at warfield as she gives me a concerned look. "Before you ask, yes. Nakara knows her own strains like the back of her hand. She's littarly not able to recreat them." Warfield freezes with fear. "What happens if they get to us? What kind of damage can they do if they get off this planet? What will happen to us if they manage to get whatever their creating airborne? Do we just...fall over and wait for death?" I look at nakara as she's still standing. It's not a sickness as far as I can see. "It may be some virus that only effect zerg." I look at kalas. "Like some anti-zerg evolution thing?" Warifled definitely doesn't know when to stop talking when she's scared. "Perhaps." Kalas approuches nakara as she faces kalas ready to defend herself. "Hold still one moment." He lifts his hand as he focuses. "What are you doing?" Kalas's robes start to flought. "I'm looking into you. Maybe I can find what affects you." It's hard to tell what he's doing. "Don't pray into my mind protoss. I will not be treated like this." Nakara backs up. "Intresting." He found something. "Not all is lost." Kalas lowers his hand as he looks at me. "Whatever this feral brood has done, it can only effect fellow zerg." I can tell he's still a little confused. "That's good at least." He looks at warfield. "I wouldn't celebrate. It may only effect zerg now but this brood is evolving. I do not know how fast or what it can do but I fear there may be no way to reverse this." Kalara turns back around to nakara. "This cannot be! I will not stand for this!" Kalasa raises his hand as a calm gesture. "Do not fear. I will be difficult but there is a chance it can be." Nakara lifts her head. "How can this be done?" Her strangth is returning already. "My fleet houses a researching vessel. I only need a sample of your affected blood." Nakara instantly gets defensive. "I will not subit myself to be an experiment!" Kalas shakes his head. "I said a sample of your blood. I would not submit anyone, not even a zerg to be a test subject." I walk up to nakara. "It doesn't have to be alot. Even you have to see that if we can figure out how to counter any of this, it would lay in your blood." Nakara looks down at me. "I am not suprised. You terrans have always experimented on the zerg." She's not wrong but as far as I'm aware, all experimentation on zerg was stopped when valerian took the throne. "Trust me, just giving some blood to study isn't being tourchured in a lab for years." Nakara looking into my head as I let her see what I've been through. She pouses as she sees the experiments I've been through. The pain. The agony, the hatred that builds up so much over dozens of years. "I see." Nakara lowers her head as I cut her off. "The zerg aren't the only ones who've seen the wrost of it. Fortunately for you, it's just a small sample." I turn around as I look at warfield. "We just need a vile. Get one of the medics here and make it quick." She gives me a wierd look. "That will not be nessisary friend sheep." I turn and look at kalas. "I will summon the vessels here. We need a specific sample." He quickly faces nakara. "It will be painless. I do not ask you to enter but allow my scientists to take the sample we need." Nakara looks at kalas with a stern look. "I will comply but if you have lied, I will grace my claws with your fleash." Kalas lowers his head. "Very well. I will oversee the process myself and ensure your safety and the sample is retrieved with respect." Kalas turns and looks at warfield. "Your medics aid would be appreciated. While nakara is here, we may as well aid her in any way we can." I wonder what he's planning. "Alright. I'll have a squad come over." Kalas looks at me. "I would like to speak to you in private friend sheep. There is much to discuss with these latest turns of events." He's definitely planning something. He walks past me as I follow him. I've got a very back feeling about something right now. "I have summoned my vessile. They will arrive shortly."
"Good. The sooner this is over, the sooner I may return to my broods recovery." We continue walking as we walk past alot of guards. We get to a isolated area as there's alot of terran and protoss buildings standing near eachother. More equipment is being made in the factories as more protoss worriers are being summond at the building. "Now. Let us discuss what will happen." Kalas is serius as he stops and turns to look at me. "Why have you decided to side with ther zerg in this matter? We have been enemies with the zerg for many years. We have allied before but after amons fall, our ties severed and even now battles between protoss and zerg rage." I've heard of those. "It's not with the swarm though. Pocket of amons followers are still out there. Don't forget, when everyone come out of the void, the swarm lost alot of brood mothers and alot of those broods went feral before a new brood mother cropped up somewhere. When their like that, the remnants of mobius crops can and have taken control of them." Kalas lowers his head. "This is true. However, I fear this alliance may not last for long." It'll last long enough. "I managed to glance at nakaras mind. She plans to drive us from this planet as soon as the other brood is eliminated. She will use force if she has to." No point in keeping that hidden now. "I already told her that as soon as the feral zerg is gone, so are we. We're getting out of her as soon as we can. Even if we have to wait for pick up, we're out." Kalas gives me a stern look. "Then why interfere with zerg matters?" My visor lowers as the map is pulled up. Another attack is on its way. I lift my visor as it's going to take a while to get here. "The feral zerg killed alot of good people here. In this case, it's a pride thing. We're not leaving until everyone's avenged and we've gotten everything we came her for." Kalas tilts his head. "You mean the resources you've gathered?" I nod. "We've used them to make some new Armour and weapons. It's how we've lasted so long here. We've even got a new prototype SCV in production but it still hasn't been tested yet. If we manage to everything we came here for and do field tests at the same, we've got valuable data and equipment to take back with us when we leave. On top of that, nakara wants what's left of the planet to help her brood recover from the end war. We get what we want, she gets what she wants. Win-win." Kalas straightens up. "What about us then?" Right. He is staying to help up. "Is there anything here you want?" He starts to think. "We've traced a power source here while we arrived. Unfortunately it's at the heart of the feral zergs hive. If we can retrieve that, we can gain knowledge as well." Done. "You'll also get some data on how this zerg brood functions to. It may come in handy in the future too." Something tells me it will. Kalas is still worried about something. I can sense something else is going on. "If your worried about something, tell me." Kalas lowers his head as he looks out to the first and frankly only defensive line. "I follow your logic with aiding the zerg but I fear my fellow Templar do not. I can sense thier discontent. This alliance may fall apart when you leave." I glance back and look at warfield who's talking with nakara. I look into her mind for a moment as she's tense. She's gripping onto her guass rifle tightly and ready to shoot her if she makes a wierd move but nakara isn't showing any threatening signs. She's put her life into our hands and she doesn't like it but she knows she doesn't have any choice. Even when she gets a sizable force up, she won't betray us since we have a deal. "I also am concerned we have forced ourselves into this situation." I look back at kalas. "We came here to aid you and here we stand fighting the feral zerg with zerg allies. The Templar fear amon has not been vanquished." Amon? It's been nearly 2 years. This does reek of amons plans though. He still has followers scattered around but there's not nearly enough to be afraid anymore. "It does reek of his influence." Kalas lowers himself. "I know he has been killed but I fear this may lead us twords him." It might. "What about that power signature you've found. It may involve that to." Kalas straightens up. "It is a powerful weapon that was abandoned when the tal'darim resurfaced long ago. We feared they would have captured it and used it agenst our fellow Templar so we left it here." Great. "It is a weapon of tremendous power. It would have lead to the revival of a powerful reever cast we believed long lost." Reevers? Great. I chatch a hint of that power out there again. We both look out into the stretch of muddy desert as it increases with power. "Maybe it's something completely diffrent." It's not a broodmother for sure. "It's older. It feels as if...something old it attempting to...revitalize itself." It's getting stronger but it peaks and the energy plumits again. It's showing remarkable skill in controlling the brood here. "I can't tell. I've never sensed something like this before." I look at kalas. "I cannot say for sure myself. I am forced to rely on your expertise in infiltration. I do wish to give you something to aid your efforts." Suprising. "Your weapons may not be enough." Kalas lifts his hand as he summons something as it materializes infront of me. "With your psyonic power, you may be able to weald this." Kalas hands me a wrist guard. It looks like what the zealots wear and use. "A psy blade?" Kalas nods. "As proof of our alliance. We have aided other terrans before as we've been defended and have defended before. I wish to use this as the depth of the trust we share." I put it on as it shrinks around my wrist. "All you need to do and focus your energy into the blade to ignit it. Once you manage to do that, you'll be ready." Intristing. "What about training?" Kalas lifts his head. "With your abilities, I am confident you don't need training." I chuckle. "Now focus. Pour all of your energy into it. Do this, and the blade is yours to command." I pour every ounce of energy I have into the blade as I can see it light up. "That is it. Remain focused. Don't force the blade out. Let it forge itself." I continue to pour energy into it as I can see the internal parts moving as it starts to pulse with energy. I stay fully focused as I can feel my energy being bent and forged. "Good. Now command the blade to ignite." I push more energy into it as bright yellow blade shoots out as it pulses with pure psy energy. "Good." I look up at kalas as he beems with pride. "With this, you are the first terran to ignite one of our blades and forge a true alliance with us protoss." Good. A nice weapons to use in close combat and a nice momento to. "With this, my Templar will join you as soon as you leave." I stop channeling my psy energy as the blade retracts. Good. Now I'm good to go. Let's see what kind of use I have for this.
