"Matt wake up!!"Layla screams from down the hall
she begins tying her hair up into a high ponytail to keep her hair out the way for now.
Silence comes from Mathew's room
she turns the corner and opens Matts room to see him slumped on his stomachs with one arm hanging off his bed and the other under his cheek, she picked up a pillow that was on the floor and throws it directly at his head causing him to groan and turn on his back.
"wake up, it's almost 8:30"Layla states
"shut up i'm going"Matt replies sitting up putting his face in his palms.
Layla looks out the living room window and see's her mothers car gone.
"Once again, gone" she lets out a huff of air while picking up dirty clothes that are in the living room, which are probably her mothers from last night and stumbles on a beer can while making her way to her mothers room and throws the clothes on her bed.
she picks up all the beer cans and half smoked cigarettes and throws them away she walks to her bedroom and shuts the door behind her and pulling down her comfy shorts and changing into jeans, she pulls her thong strings up a little bit so that they show.
She opens her window and goes over to her little "nightstand" and pulls out a box of marlboros and takes one out and lit it taking a long drag of it and exhaling—putting the box in her back pocket.
she walks over to her drawers and takes out a black laced bra and opens her closet to pick out a shirt, she puts the cigarette in her mouth to put her bra on and once she got it she took another drag of it and held it between her fingers to slide her shirt on.
She took her hair down and brushed the hair brush through her silky hair then put 2 mini pigtails in her hair while the rest was down.

She decided to do her makeup today so she put black eyeliner on her water line with a little bit on her upper eyelid and making a little wing on the outer corner, she took a little bit of black eyeshadow on a small brush and smudged it out to give it a blurry effect, she puts a little shimmer on the tip of her nose, cheekbones, and a little amount in the corner of her eyes.
Matt opens her door scaring Layla a little bit.
"Jesus can't you knock?"Layla said annoyed
"whatever, Mason and his sister are walking with us also where did mom go"Matt asked
"Okay i guess and how the hell should i know, she's probably out with some random guy and gonna disappear for a month again"Layla said putting on her shoes and grabbing her bag
"Now come on" Layla pushes past her brother and opens the front door to see mason and his sister Tracy talking on the sidewalk.
She walks outside closing the door behind her half way as Matt followed behind.
Mason and Matt said hi to each other and talked while walking to school and were behind Tracy and Layla. Layla and Tracy didn't talk as much as Tracy was nervous to talk to one of the popular girls.
Layla pulled out a pre-roll from a mini bag that was in her bag, lit it and took a puff of it once it was half done they arrived to the school so she had to put it out, she saw Evie and Astrid waiting for her at the school entrance and Evie ran up to her hugging her Astrid following behind.
"Laylaaa!!!i missed you, wow you've changed a lot"
Astrid came and hugged her after
"Wow Layla you look so different"Astrid smiles
"I could say the same for you guys you look amazing Evie"Layla laughed
All three of them walked in the school arm in arm
"Me and Astrid are going to Melrose after school and we wanted to know if you wanted to come with us"Evie asked Layla
"uh duhh why not!"Layla smiled
