“So.” Draco grinned at me. “How was detention?” I scowled. “Awful.”

Draco was the last person I’d want to be partners with in potions class, but here we were. Together. In one class. Professor Snape was lucky there hadn’t been an explosion or a fire yet…

“Serves you right, you could have damaged my eye.” Draco gave a puppy look that I knew was totally fake. “Oh, what a shame.” I muttered as I stirred the frothing, blue potion in our cauldron. Well. My cauldron. Yes, that would be quite a shame… Draco just wouldn’t look as cute without those pretty gray eyes… Pretty? God damn it, Jazz, get a hold of yourself. He isn’t cute. He’s a demon.

Draco peered at me with a frown. “Jasmina, I think you’re stirring that too much.” I jumped a bit, letting out a sharp cry as the frothing potion bubbled over onto the table, and from there onto my lap. “Damn it!” I cried, earning even more surprised looks from the students around me. Of course, Professor Snape glared at me.

“Told you.” Draco said, and I could tell he was holding back laughter. “I told you that you were stirring it too much." He gave me a gleeful smirk. “Shut up.” I muttered. “Never.” He grinned.

“Ms. Stephan,” Professor Snape walked over to our table, eying the blue mess on the table and my robes. “I’d suggest you begin cleaning all of this up – needless to say it won’t be done before the end of class. I’d say a detention is perfect time to clean it up…” I stared at him, frowning. “But…Fine.”

Draco smirked, “Have fun.”

“Aw, don’t worry, Jazzy. I’m sure cleaning all of that up won’t be hard.” Elanise reassured me. “That’s not what I’m worried about.” I complained into the throw pillow on the soft, fluffy, emerald green velvet chaise lounge in the common room. “Than what are you worried about?” She asked in confusion.

“Would you want a detention with Snape?” I asked doubtfully. “No.” She said quickly. “There’s our problem.” I muttered. I gazed up at the clock for a moment. “Ten minutes.” I groaned. “Ella, I don’t wanna goooo!” I wailed. “I guess there’s nothing we can do.” Elanise said slowly, sighing.  Standing, I frowned at the clock, then at Ella. “I’ll see you after detention, I guess…”

“I may be asleep.” Ella warned me. “Okay… Then I’ll see you tomorrow.”

The halls were dark. Very, very dark. My hands were sore from cleaning. Professor Snape had taken advantage of my being there, and made me clean the whole classroom. Sighing, I leaned against one of the walls.

“Hey, Jasmina.” I jumped. “Draco, what are you doing out here? It’s so late…” He smirked. “I could ask you the same question.” I scowled. “Draco, I had detention, remember?” He frowned. “And Snape kept you this late? Or were you busy with something else? Harry Potter, maybe?”

I stared. “Draco, I have standards, you know. I’d never get caught with a Gryffindor, let alone Potter.” I spit his name out like a curse word. Draco looked rather surprised.  “Oh. Okay, then.”  I smirked a bit at his surprise. “C’ya later, then.”  He said slowly. “Bye.”
