DARK BACKROUND:
The chapter starts with AKI ROSENTHAL reading a book to a girl named AIKO (the one who will give Mumei her name), but they won't be shown. Just draw what is being described in the voice over.
AKI (V.O)
As "Civilization" was not
built by "the Gods", no
order could be found
among. Disorder ocurred
once more.
"Civilization" corrupted
"Nature." With the birth of
"Civilization," "Time" gained
extensive power. "Time"
bound all living beings with
shackles, dominating them
diabolically.
"Space" and "Time" had
long since confronted
one other for ages past.
"Space" could not agree
with "Time's" tyranny,
and a devastating
conflict commenced.
Amidst the havoc,
"the Gods" created avatars.
They bestowed the
vessel to "Chaos," who had
existed since the genesis.
"Let there be order!
Chaos shall govern
the lands via Council."
The Gods said,
followed by their slumber.
So led to the Council's
provenance.
EXT. NANASHI VILLAGE – AFTERNOON
Aki and Aiko (10 yrs old at the time) are under a tree reading a book. While the kids are playing in front of them, Aiko is just there listening to Aki's stories.
AKI
And that was the birth
of the Council! I thought the
Guardian of Civilization
came into life later
than her fellow Council
members. But this
book proved me wrong.
Civilization is the youngest
concept among the five
and the only one
wasn't created by the
Gods, but it's not the
same with the concepts'
avatars!
All the avatars were
created by the Gods at
the same time! Weird
that the GUARDIAN is
the only one that
doesn't have a na-- oh...
Aki looks at Aiko and notices that she was falling asleep. She faintly smiles at Aiko, ready to let her rest at her lap, when she suddenly sobers up.
AIKO
HAa...! Hmmm
huh? wher am I?
AKI
(chuckles)
You're getting sleepy
Aiko, let's get you
back to Aren-dono.
It's getting late too.
AIKO
Huh? No no I was
listening... What was
the Guardian's
name again?
Aiko asked with half of her eyes open.
AKI
You were listening?!
Aiko was half asleep, but fully sobered up when Aki asked that question. She reluctantly answers the question.
AIKO
Y-yeah! I was!
