4. The Spider talks with The Captain

Narrator POV

As Peter tells Wanda how he got his powers, Peggy Carter walks in.

She stops she see the two young Avengers talking. She looks at Peter with interest and smiles.

'Maybe having him on the team won't be so bad.'

She continues walking into the common room and takes a seat away from the two.

Wanda turns around and sees Peggy.

"Peggy, come join us."

"Oh no, I don't wanna intrude on your conversation."

"Actully, I'm gonna get going, I have to be at the training room in the next 30 minutes, I have training with Vision", says Wanda.

"Then go, we'll continue later."

Wanda holds Peter hand and gives it a squeeze.

"Alright, sounds good. Bye Peter."

Wanda waves at Peter as she walks off.

"Mr. Parker."

Peter smiles.

"You can call me Peter."

"Only if you call me Peggy."

Peggy smiles back.

"I'm bot gonna lie, until Tony told us Spider-Man was joining the team, I had never heard of you before. And I'm not trying to be disrespectful."

"That's ok. You've probably been really busy."

Peggy nods.

"I wanna ask, how'd you get you enhanced powers?"

"Well, I was on a field trip to a science lab at Empire State University, and they specialize on Cross- Species Genetics. I was looking around and noticed one of their projects they were working on was spiders.'

Peggy listens intently, all while looking into Peter's eyes.

"I had noticed one was gone, bit the lab assistant showing us around thought the spider was being worked on, but it had escaped the glass cage."

Peter remembers that day like it was yesterday.

"When I wasn't looking, the Spider crawled on me and bit my neck. I had gone home and didn't feel to good, so I thought I would sleep it off. When I woke up the next day, I had my powers. It took me a few weeks to learn to control them, but I did, eventully."

"Must've been hard to adjust."

"It was, but I got used to it."

Peter looks towards his phone, as he replies to a text.

"What about becoming Spider-Man?"

Peter stops for a few seconds.

Peggy see's that something is wrong.

"You don't have to answer, if it makes you uncomfortable."

Peter smiles as he looks at Peggy.

"Yeah, it's kind of a personal reason."

Peggy can see the sadness is his eyes. She knows that look.

She decides to change the subject.

"How about we talk about something else. Like, what's your favorite hobby?"

Peter smiles even more.

For the next hour, Peggy listens to Peter. She's enjoyed talking with Peter.

Unbeknownst to her, Peter feels a certain way with her. He's always had a crush on the Captain.

Peter knows that's all it'll ever be, just. A crush.

While unbeknownst to Peter, Peggy also is developing a crush.

A/N: Yeah, I know it's short, but I am ok with it being short. This is exactly how I wanted this chapter to be.)
