Knife had been the closest to his room, and immediately ran when he heard a shriek and a shatter. Who. Who was it?
He walked in, to see Lightbulb in the doorway, staring at Test Tubes shattered glass, with green liquid already staining the carpet.
He walked up to Lightbulb. It appeared she was crying.. even for a jokester like her, it was quite reasonable. "Did- did you see what happened?" Knife glanced at her, asking quietly.
Lightbulb slowly shook her head. It looked as if she was in disbelief. Knife nodded, patting her shoulder in an attempt to give reassurance.
"I'm sorry that you also have to go through this." Knife was referring to what happened to Pickle. Lightbulb looked as if she wanted to say it was fine, but she.. couldn't speak. She seemed mad, sad and all jumbled up.
Knife felt sympathy looking at her. "Nonverbal?" She just nodded in response, slightly walking into the room, and sitting by what was,, previously Test Tube.
A small crowd had gathered, Knife guessed that most objects were too scared to check out what was going on because of the shatter.
OJ burst into the room in the middle of Knife's thoughts. "What on earth is going on?!" He shouted before spotting Test Tubes' shattered body. "Oh. Oh no." He could only whisper out the words, staring at the shards of glass on the ground.
"How did-" OJ paused shakily, taking in a deep breath and trying to seem less shaken. "How did this happen?!"
"I... I wish I could tell you." Knife replied hoarsely, unable to look away from Test Tubes' corpse.
OJ nodded in response, staring with a seemingly blank expression, but a second later he was pushed to the side by Fan running to the shattered glass at full speed.
"Oh no. This must be fake! It can't be real. I have to be dreaming. That's all this is. Definitely." Fan was crying, and talking to himself about how it had to be a dream. He ran over to a corner, still muttering things and sobbing.
Knife tightened his clammy palms, staring at the crime scene and slowly walking up. He looked at Test Tubes' body and saw a couple of pieces mixed in that looked like they were from the broken window, but,, one was in the middle of a crack, lodged in there.
Was that the murder weapon? Was that how Test Tube had died?
A single piece of glass from the Window?.. that was horrible.Knife looked around for anything else, maybe another sort of clue? Knife grabbed Test Tubes glasses that were lying on the floor, and he noticed a sticky note on one of the handles.
He quickly snatched it, reading it intently after he unrolled it. It read 'Go to my lab if I die, Please.' Test Tube's dying wishes?.. huh.
Knife took in a deep breath, gathering himself slowly.
He tapped Fan, who was sobbing in a corner of the room. "Hey, come with me." He whispered. Fan was the only one he trusted to help him with going to Test Tubes lab, considering that he was her partner.
Knife gently took Fan's hand, not waiting for a response, and Fan was sobbing still, not even realizing who was dragging him outside."Hey, bud. Listen to me. Test Tube had a sticky note with.. basically her dying wishes, we need to go to her lab. Okay?.. Can you do that?" Fan stared at him, surprised and confused, but he let out a sudden nod. Knife led him down the stairs, and outside.
While on their walk, Knife began to feel as if someone was watching him. Slowly, he turned to Fan. "Hey, do you feel like something is watching you, or is it just me?" Fan took a second, but quickly responded after.
"I don't think so. Sorry, can't stop thinking about 'Tube." Fan frowned, rubbing his eyes.
"That's alright. It's like that with me and Pickle." Knife winced, too saddening at the thought. His sentence trailed off. "Bbut, lets get away from the topic." Knife's raspy voice suddenly said."Oh- A-alright." Fan followed closely behind, holding his arms together as they encroached upon the laboratory. Knife blinked, clueless. "Um. I forgot the code." He glanced at Fan with a blank expression.
Fan sighed quietly, typing in the code rapidly and yelping when the mechanical tube sucked them up. "I forgot it did that!" He sighed, hitting his forehead gently.
"Thanks, Fan." Fan glanced at Knife, caught off guard by the show of appreciation. Knife blinked, staring at him when no response came. "Uhh, did I do something wrong?" He blinked at Fan, wearing a confused face.
"N-no, sorry, I zoned out. My bad. Uh, you're welcome." Fan glanced around, spotting a note on Test Tubes whiteboard and springing up. "Oh! Look!"
He ran over to it, and Knife followed with a shrug.
The writing on the whiteboard read,'Hello! If you are reading this I have most likely died, but do not fret!-' Fan frowned while reading. "I wish I had read this before I had been worrying." Knife continued reading after.
'I have already made a solution.See, there is a machine that I have programmed to revive me if I die while mephone is unavailable, which for some reason, he is. If you check my desk for a white button, it should spawn me back!
Depending on how far in progress I was when I died, it'll either spawn me back as a ghost.. or full form!'
Fan gasped when he finished reading. He ran over to Test Tube's desk, immediately throwing random things to the side."White button.. white button.." He muttered under his breath, his teeth gritted together.
"Fan, calm down. We're in no rush!" Knife put a hand on his shoulder, set on edge by Fan's frantic actions. "I know, I know- but- Test Tube!" He glanced at Knife, throwing his hands up in the air animatedly.
Knife shook his head. "Yeah, I get it." He searched through a drawer Fan hadn't yet tampered with, and saw a white button as big as a golf ball laying there.
Fan snapped his head over to Knife, gasping as he saw the button. He snatched it, running over to an empty place and looking around the room excitedly when a figure faded into view.
