She Way Out

"Dani" I yell through a crowd of people. "Daniii" My best friend, covered in glitter. Her dress is reflecting the strobe lights as she ways her hips to the dj's last song of his set. I point to my cup when she looks back.
'I'll be right back' i mouth and she nods.

The thought of another drink sinks in and i realize i have to pee. bad. The line is horrendously long. So long the set was already over and a new one begun. I'd had enough and snuck into the men's. It was disgusting. Horrid. But it was empty and better than that line.

Just as i was heading out i'd bumped into someone. I apologize and try to get past but he stops me.
"woah woah woah there. this is men's"
I roll my eyes and give him the finger as i push through.

Truly hate men at clubs sometimes.

I woke up with a pounding headache and song fingers brushing the hair out of my face.
"I brought you some water and an advil. Get up we have a weekend to finish" My beloved Dani always taking care of me.

After slugging myself out of bed i was greeted with eggs and the sizzle of bacon.
"I'd marry you if you didn't have a boyfriend" I said to her
"You can just join us" She winked and i rolled my eyes and plopped on the sofa.

She came over with our plates and turned on the tv with the volume low.
"So last night" I raise my eyebrows up and down at her.
"I saw you leave with a girl" i tease
Dani and her boyfriend were on and off. I suppose last night they were off.
"And you snuck into a closet with a boy" she raised an eyebrow "Why don't you explain that"

"It was a little apology. Well a big apology" i giggled and we both choked on our food

"He felt bad about making me mad in the bathroom"

"Ew did you go to the men's AGAIN" She scoffs

I raised my hand to look at my nails
"Whatever gets the job done. Anyways tell me about YOURRR boy"

Just as she began to speak I heard a bang on the door. We both froze looking at each other terrified. Until i hear my big brothers voice on the other side.

"Adam" we say in unison rolling our eyes. My annoyance quickly turns to confusion as to why he's here. As soon as i opened the door for him he stomped right past me.

"Kicked out. Seriously? It was one of the best schools in the state. Or even.. The States. A miracle you got in. And you get kicked?

I brace myself to explain when his anger turns to a wide grin

"And for setting a building on fire. That's how you make history" He says as he goes in for a hug.

"I missed you" Id said to him. I have my guard up for the world but with my brother the armor falls. I can just be a little girl again.

He waved to dani and she tried to hide her blushing but waved back. She's always had a little crush on him. Even when we were kids.

"I just wanted to check on you. I know you have a perfectly reasonable explanation for how this happened"

"A candle fell" I shrug my shoulders and wink.

"Well get dressed i'm taking you to brunch"

I'm seated in a cafe wearing gray sweats and a black long sleeve. my hair combed but still a tad bit frizzy. My head is still pounding and it must be obvious because a flash of worry? or was it annoyance that crossed his face?
"Still out partying every night?" he asks

I squint my eyes, purse my lips and cross my arms "Oh yeah baby" i nodded

"Well are you up to a little break from college parties and up to attending some london ones?"

My face turns into one of confusion. I look at him warily.

"Our tour managers assistant just left and we start this August. And seeing as you don't have a place at school anymore i was thinking you spend the summer with me and the boys and tour with us in the fall"

"Adam are you being for real. That's like a lot and i literally do not know a thing ab tour managing"

"that's why you spend the summer with us to learn. and i want you to meet the boys. they've been dying to meet you"

Despite my brother being in a band for 7 years i'd never met his mates. He'd left for his first tour when i was 13 and he was 19. It never really fell into place me meeting them. And to be honest i'd only ever listened to the few songs adam showed me. and it was all pre production.

I really start to think on it. and it makes sense. i really dont have anywhere to go and dani can't afford the rent being raised with me there. jobless.

"Why'd she leave hmmmm" i ask him

"She's having a baby"

"It's not because you all are a group of reckless mongrels?" I had my suspicions.

"Absolutely not i'd never sign you up for that" He replied in a mocking tone.

I pause pretending to think about it and take a sip of my diet coke.

"Okay Ill go" i say cheerfully and rolling my eyes.

"eeekkk" he squeals and we both bursted into laughter.
