Riley's Two Love Birds

Chapter 1 Lost

After loosing a Pokémon battle to her Childhood friend. Riley became very frustrated with the numerous attempts to beat him. Losing 5 times in a row to his Gabite. Taking her frustration out on him and her very own Pokémon. Jack left without another word. Quilava has also felt the frustration from the battle. With them two butting heads at each other, they parted ways to blow off some steam and to give each other some space. After an hour Riley couldn't find her Pokémon, with the sun starting to go down she panicked. In a desperate attempt, she went to seek out help from Jack but he was no where to be found. Leaving town he was never heard from again. Quilava ended up getting lost in the mountains, which most people would know that very territorial Pokémon live up in the mountains and are more aggressive at night.

     Apollo(Quilava) found himself to be lost in the woods while walking off the abandoned trail into the mountain area. He felt his stomach sink in as he witnessed the sun going down. Already attempted on retracing his steps but he must have taken multiple turns off the path without even realizing it. The more he panicked, frequently looking around he only stuttered deeper into the forest. Everywhere he turned there were ominous shadows and alarming noises, encouraging him to go the opposite direction.

     As it hit nightfall, nothing appeared to be visible. The moonlight shining through the branches of the thick trees weren't enough make out anything. It's been almost 2 hours he's been searching for a way out. Moments later he saw a light 40 yards away, appearing to be a way out of the forest. Making a break for it, not looking back. He took a huge breath of relief. Only to stumble to be on a Rocky Mountain. Well at least I can see. He thought to himself. Everyone around him put him on edge. Running into a Golem who showed no interest in him still frightened him.

Running away in a panic, he stumbled across into an sleeping Onix. Taking a big gulp as he slowly backed up, till tripping onto a branch. Causing the Onix to awaken from it slumber. Judging from its overwhelming size, it was bigger than average. At a roaring 35 feet in length. Roaring at Apollo as he attempts to slam down his tail at him. Managing to dodge the swings of his tail, Onix charged forward at him throwing himself into the mountain side, causing a small tremor that road straight up to the top.

     "What was that!?" A voice complained, being woken from her nap. Grumpy, she decided to investigate the ruckus going on just outside her den. "Hm? What's someone like him doing around here?" Witnessing a Quilava fend for his life from a ginormous Onix. I'm too tired for this. Letting out a big yawn before returning to bed. Being backed into a corner. Seconds from being crushed by its tail, a purple beam in the form of a slash struck Onix in the side of his head. Knocking him off his balance. A four legged figure dashed in, grabbing ahold of Apollo by his neck. Gripping onto him with her teeth, removing him from the area. Moments later the Onix regained its balance, getting ready to unleash another attack. Dropping Apollo onto the ground, planting her feet onto the ground before letting out a powerful roar causing him to flee.

     Stunned from what just accrued, everything happened so fast. Apollo watch as the figure now approached him, appearing to be a large Absol. Before he can even say Thank you, she began to scold him. "Do you have a death wish!? Don't you know you shouldn't be out here this late at night!?" He was left speechless. "T-thank you for saving me." He said softly. "Why are you out here?" She asked with a intimidating glare. "I-I got separated from the trail and I couldn't find my way back." He stuttered. "If you knew any better than you shouldn't known that the trail is off limits for a reason. Do you even have a place to stay?" Apollo looked down and shook his head no. "Come with me." She sighed.

     Guiding him up a steep hill toward her den, giving him shelter for the night. Woahhh it's massive! Apollo admired her large cave. A small lit fire was lit in the middle. Three 8 foot boulders around the walls, leafs and branches scattered around, and claw marks everywhere. "Why are you even out here?" Absol asked. Hesitate at first but Apollo gave a brief explanation about the fight him and Riley had. "I see..."  Absol didn't show much of a reaction. "I'll help you get back to town." She blurted out as she places a pile of leaves down for Apollo, a few feet away from her bed. "R-really? T-thank you so much!" Apollo sounded relieved. "It's late. We'll head out at dawn."

     30 minutes later, after their short conversation. "Hey Absol?" He whispered. "Aren't you supposed to be asleep?" She said, facing the opposite direction. Waiting a few moments before answering. "What's wrong? Can't sleep?" Absol sighed. "Why are you helping me?" She didn't answer, only the crackling from the fire echoed. "Absol?" Absol tried her best to keep her composure, not wanting to relive her haunting memories that she buried deep down. "A bond between Trainer and Pokémon is very special. Loosing something so precious could lead to an unfortunate end. Let me tell ya it's very lonely out here."

About a year or two ago. Absol had a trainer named Zack. The two of them shared an unbreakable bond with each other, they were inseparable. Until one fateful day. On a evening stroll through the thick forest, they've encountered a nasty fog. Consuming everything in its path. Multiple figure emerged from the mist, causing them to be cornered at the cliff side. Seeing no option but a 500 foot drop into shallow water. Zack wasted no time and grabbed ahold of Absol, Jumping in. Holding her tightly, Zack took most of the impact while Absol only suffered a broken leg. Leaving her with his necklace that he wore everywhere and releasing her from her premier ball before passing away.

     At that moment she looked very upset, trying to fight off her tears. "I won't ask what happened." He added on. "Just get some sleep okay?" Apollo looked over at her. Getting up and laying right next to her, leaning against her soft white fur. She jumped a bit not expecting the interaction. Wanting to say something, she decided to keep it to herself. Enjoying the warmth from his body heat. As the cave filled with silence, they began to fall asleep.

2 hours before dawn, Absol woken up. Feeling a bit anxious from another Pokémon sleeping in her den. She could tell that he's harmless and appears to have a kinda heart, but he's the first Pokémon in 5 months that she interacted with. Behind her she can feel him tossing and turning, talking in his sleep. "Absol..." He mumbled. "Hm?" She jumped. Sitting up and turning herself around. She leaned in her ear checking if she heard that right. Did he just say my name? After a few moments she turned away, believing she misheard him. "Whatever." As it stirred around in her head, she looked back once more. Her face turned bright red. Clearly seeing his member particularly erected. The more she glanced at it, then harder it was to pull away. Sitting himself up as he rubbed his cheek where she pinched. "Let's go. We have a long road ahead of us." With Apollos small and stubby legs and Absol lack of rest, it may take all day till they reach town.
