"Y/n. Do you.... Believe in magic?"
My heart skipped a beat as I stopped dead. I was holding Eun-Woo's hand and he got dragged behind and stopped as well.
No. I dare not turn because the voice seemed all too familiar. I clenched my fists and closed my eyes, believing it was just me hallucinating, again.
No. He was gone and he did not come back. I'm not going to turn. I am going to keep walking ahead like I never heard anything.
But as if they had a mind of their own, my feet turned slowly, painfully towards the person who called my name.
My eyes widened and I dropped my purse, it falling to the floor with a metallic clang. Still not fully believing my eyes I took a few steps forward and gasped.
"Min-ah..."
He smiled and looked me dead in the eyes. "I missed that nickname so much. Haven't heard it in years."
It was him. He may not be in his cloak and hat but it was him. He wore a crisp white shirt and his hair the same messy way I saw last.
"Min-ah..." I whispered again. I could feel my eyes watering and my voice cracking
"Y/n. It's me. I'm here." He said taking both my hands in his own.
I let myself melt in their warmth, wanting to hug him and cry my heart out when I realised Cha Eun was with me and watching. I pulled my hands back.
He looked at me questioningly, his hands still outstretched.
I looked down in embarrassment and scratched my neck as I said, "I- I'm with someone right now."
He looked behind me Eun-woo who looked like he was ready to kill. Then his eyes traveled down my face and to my neck, as they widened.
I realised he saw the hickey and quickly pulled my hair ahead to cover it.
"So that's it? You forgot about us?" He said looking hurt.
"No! That's not it. I looked for you Min-ah... three years I looked for you like a woman possessed. People called me crazy. I had to take medication not to kill myself because I was genuinely driving myself crazy. I didn't think you were ever coming back... I looked for you and kept looking but you never came." I explained
Min-Hyuk grit his teeth and spat out in anger, "You should have looked longer. I waited for you, six years. And you moved on as if I never existed."
I gasped at the harshness of his words. My voice breaking I replied, "That is so not fair..."
Eun woo came beside me, confused by the ordeal. He held my arm and looked at Min-Hyuk, "Is there a problem?"
Min Hyuk smiled and replied, "Not at all. Enjoy the show!" And walked off. I was left absolutely dumbstruck.
"Hey, y/n? Are you okay? Who was that?" Eun-woo asked.
"Uh, yeah I'm fine. That was.... An old friend." I lied.
Eun woo crossed his arms and looked at me knowingly. "Don't lie to me y/n. Just tell me."
I sighed, knowing that even the truth had to be half told because I couldn't afford to let anyone know what happened.
"I know him from back in Yongma. We never dated but... there was something. It's all in the past now. I'd rather not talk more about it if you don't mind...""Yeah that's fine, I understand. But if he tries to do anything to you-"
"No no he's not that kind of a person. You don't have to worry." I said.
