"I am tired, Mani!" Nandini breathed out weakly. She was extremely tired from their long session of love-making. She put her palm on his shoulder to stop him. But he held them above her head and continued with what he was doing.
"Mani!" Nandini protested.
"Just five more minutes." He was on the verge of release so he kept thrusting in and out of her body.
Nandini closed her eyes and let him continue with his thrusts.
"Oh..." He moaned out when he released deep inside her. Immediately his body weight fell on her when exhaustion overtook his senses. Manik hid his face in the crook of her neck and closed his eyes.
"Mani..." Nandini mumbled his name while caressing his thick hair.
"Hmm." He hummed against her skin.
"Will I get pregnant now?" She asked in a childish tone.
Manik turned his face to a side to speak, "Maybe, it was our first time time so it's not quite possible." He replied in his sleepy voice.
"What if I would die whenever the baby will happen?" Her question made him look up at her.
"Why would you say that?" He asked while looking at her tired face.
"My mom died of childbirth. Even your mom died of childbirth, too. What if it happened with me as well. Her childhood fear was coming to surface now. The fear of dying just like her mother.
"I will prefer being childless then. If you are afraid of pregnancy, we can go for surrogacy instead." He suggested normally.
"Really?" Nandini was surprised.
"Yes, I am serious." He cupped her face. Nandini smiled.
"I don't want to bear a child, Mani. I fear I will die." Her smile faded away as she shared her fear with her husband.
Manik caressed her hair and kissed her forehead. "It's alright, Nandu. We will go for surrogacy whenever the right time will come. Start taking contraceptive to avoid getting pregnant, okay?"
Nandini nodded slowly with a smile.
"Good. Now sleep." He pecked her lips and put his head on her bosom.
Nandini tangled her fingers in his thick mane and kept playing with them until she did not fall asleep.

A few days later,
Nandini and Manik were on their way back home. The driver Manoj was driving the car humming to the Arijit Singh songs playing in the background. While the couple sitting at the backseat was quiet.
She looked at him who had put a blank face since he attended his first appointment with a psychiatrist half an hour ago.
She gently held his right hand and put it on her lap, and started caressing it ever so gently. She began to ask, "How was your first session?"
He gave her a look. She could not pin point if it was anger or annoyance or both but it was not a pleasant look.
"I am not going there again. That idiot seemed more interested in my sex life rather than my mental health."
"Mani, he must be asking if for some reason. You are a married man. Sex is an important part of your life." Nandini tried to reason with him.
"But it's my sex life. He has nothing to do with it. Meeting him has only worsened my mood, that's it." He was annoyed to no end.
"Fine, leave it. What about our honeymoon?" Nandini diverted the topic.
"We'll fly to Italy anytime you want. I've made all the arrangements." He informed her with a smile.
"Great! How about next week?" She asked excitedly.
"As you wish." He nodded.
"Mani, you are the best." She kissed his cheek.
"I know." And he kissed her back.
But a sound of throat clearing reminded them of their poor driver who was feeling extremely uncomfortable.
"Oh! Sorry, Manoj." Manik apologised to his driver.
Manoj just nodded with an uncomfortable look and focused back on the road.
Nandini couldn't control her grin at Manoj's expressions. She hid her face in Manik's chest to control her laughter. Manik pressed his teeth to compose himself and wrapped his one arm around his laughing wife.
"Nandini, control." He patted her head.
"What can I do? There's laughing had in your car." Nandini joked.
"Oh really?" And he began tickling her, making her laugh even harder.
"Mani, stop it!" She pushed his hands away and hugged him tightly.
When both of them managed to control their laughter, Manik kissed her forehead out of blue.
That was one of the moments when Nandini felt grateful that she agreed for this marriage proposal. Manik was perfect for her. And it felt like heaven to be his Nandu, his Solace.
