"Vihaan, come out from under the table." Nandini warned her two-year-old son.

"Are you coming out or not?" She asked getting no response in return.

"Nandu, why are you boiling like an egg?" Manik joked when he entered the living area. His hair was a mess and he was wearing a blue t-shirt with white sweatpants.

"Because of your son. He is hiding under the table. Both of you, father-son duo, are getting on my nerves nowadays." She shouted angrily and went away from there.

Manik sighed and bent down to look under the table.

"Oye, little monkey, come out out no candies for you." And little Vihaan was out in no time. He came crawling to his father who picked him up in his arms.

Manik took him to their bedroom where Nandini was lying on the bed.

"Give him to me." She immediately got up and raised her arms to hold their little troublemaker.

Vihaan was passed into his mother's arms who made him lie down beside her. She began patting his small forehead to make him fall asleep. Manik too joined them on bed. Now, little sleepy Vihaan was lying between his parents. Manik put his one hand on Nandini's waist and his other hand was resting in his baby's little tummy.

"I am sorry for earlier." She apologized for her earlier outburst.

"It's alright." He passed her a reassuring smile.

It's been two months since Nandini's father, Kishore Kashyap, died of heart attack. And she was devastated since then. She was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Her father's death had affected her mental health very badly.

"Mani, I miss Dad." She broke into silent tears. But her palm kept caressing her sleeping son's forehead.

His hand resting on her waist moved to wipe her tears.

"Just cry, Nandu. It will lessen the burden off your chest." He caressed her cheek. Although, he asked her to vent out her pain but only his heart knew how he was feeling seeing the love of his life in that condition.

"I want to hug you." She wiped her tears and moved to lie on his body. She put her head against his chest while her one hand moved to caress an sleep Vihaan's forehead.

"Sleep, Nandini." And he began patting her head, just the away she was doing earlier with their son. Nandini closed her eyes and let sleep embrace her in her husband's arms. Seeing his wife and son both fast asleep, Manik too drifted in a peaceful slumber.

In the evening, his eyes opened up on their own after three hour long nap. Vihaan was now sitting on his chest and playing with his messy hair.

He immediately broke into chuckles.

"Oye, little monkey, you got your own curly hair naa. Don't mess with mine." And he began to wrestle with his baby. After a ten minute long fight, he let Vihaan win the wrestling.

"Let's go to your Mumma." Saying this he picked the tiny goofball in his arms and went to the kitchen. He was damn sure she would be in kitchen diverting her mind by preparing an early dinner.

And he was right.

"Mumma." Vihaan called for her in a baby-ish voice.

Nandini's mood got normal by then. She smiled and moved to kiss his forehead. She handed his milk bottle to Manik.

"It's your appointment with the psychiatrist tomorrow." He informed her while sitting on the dining table with Vihaan in his lap.

"I remember." She replied while getting back to preparing the meal.

"I'm coming with you."

Nandini looked at him. "Then who'd take care of Vihaan? I am not taking him to the clinic."

"Don't worry. Abhi will be home tomorrow. He won't mind babysitting Vihaan along with Kavya and Kartik." He told her pretty confidently because his cousin loved kids to no end.

"Okay." She nodded while stirring the gravy getting cooked on the stove.

Half an hour later, both of them were sitting on the dining table and having their early dinner. Vihaan fell asleep again after drinking the milk and was sleeping in the bedroom.

Nandini was quietly having her food and Manik was again and again looking her way.

"Do you want to say something, Mani?" She asked when she noticed him looking at her for too long.

He was contemplating on whether he should tell her about her father's reality or not. After her father's death, everyday a part of him forced him to reveal the truth to her. However, he wasn't sure. He had promised to Kishore Kashyap that he will never tell her the truth. Nandini was already devastated after her father's death. If he would tell her the truth, he was afraid that the trauma will completely ruin her life.

He looked at her and smiled, "Nothing... Actually, I was thinking of we could go on a short vacation. Maybe, somewhere in the North East."

"Hmm, nice." She agreed with a small smile.

"Nandini, please start smiling again." He put his palm on her hand resting on the table.

Her eyes immediately glistened with the tears. She stood up and moved to kiss him on his lips.

"Thank you, Mani, for being so supportive in the worst phase of my life." She joined their lips once again and what started as a kiss, soon turned into a passionate make out.

As promised, I have posted an Epilogue of this story.

Many of you might have wanted me to reveal the truth to Nandini, but then guys, this is not a typical daily soap or a movie where truth will ultimately come into light. Life is much more practical and happening than the movies and all.

I hope you will understand it.

With this Epilogue, this story has reached its final destination.
