March
I regretted going to this game as soon as I got here. Of course, Ava Grace would be sitting with another guy already. She's just too helpful and friendly, and guys take advantage of that.
I felt the need to keep her safe, so the best thing I could do was sit next to her and make sure this guy wouldn't try anything stupid.
"Dalton!" She announced.
I love hearing her say my name. We said our hellos to each other. Apparently, Jared is now in the student council too. Fun. He also is dressed like a tool, but apparently girls find that style appealing.
On the other hand, I continually rock the I-only-have-a-few-sets-of-clothes look all the time. It's perfect, it gets the ladies' attention. This guy also has a weird thing with touching my shoulder. I don't know if it's a macho thing or if he just likes touching me. I hope for the first one.
Avery joined the party now. Her high-pitched voice is always pleasant to hear regularly. She means well, and she is super sweet, but I can only handle her positivity so much.
How does a girl who has so much going on be so happy? I envy her perfect way of life. I wish I could have all of that going on and not be super miserable at the end of the day. Maybe I should ask her what her secret is?
Oh good, we now found out that Ava Grace rode here in this loser's car. Perfect. Could things get any worse tonight? Yes, yes, they can, because the girls have decided to leave me with this fantastic fellow behind me, please don't touch me again.
"Hey, man. So any tips to get me through the rest of the year?" He's trying to converse with me. Fine, I'll bite.
"Get good grades." I commented back. He found that hilarious, because he wouldn't stop laughing and attempted to slap me on the shoulder again, but I dodged it.
"You're a funny dude." He replied through his laugh.
"Thanks." I commented without giving him any eye contact.
"So, about Ava Grace. Any tips on her?" He changed the conversation. Really? She's the last thing I want to help you get.
"Well, be careful of her dad." I tried to get him to be afraid to date her, hopefully this works.
"Yeah, she mentioned her dad is protective." He continued to push, so I figured I would go further, hoping that I could make him not want to date her anymore.
"Yeah, he's also a pastor." I just had to throw that one in there. I was hoping he would run screaming, but instead, he studied what I said.
"Really?" He questioned.
"Yep, really." I stated, still not looking at him.
"So, she's a good girl." He stated with almost too much of a maniacal tone.
That's not how that bombshell should have worked, it should have made him freak out and leave, and then I could spend the rest of the game with her. Not entice him more.
"She is a good girl. She goes to church every week. She volunteers at shelters, and now she's super busy being the president of the student council." I tried to throw every other bombshell that came to mind.
"Has she ever kissed anyone before?" He wouldn't let it go. I wish I could punch him, but I knew my limits and he would definitely win.
"I don't know, probably," was all I could think to say.
"Has she ever..." he started questioning.
"Hey, guys." I heard Ava Grace as she and Avery walked back up the bleachers. Thankfully she interrupted his last question, because if it was what I think it was, I would've punched him, I didn't care if I won or not.
