When Lydia passed through the glass doors to the bullpen, she saw her coworkers gathered and Reid was staring at Rossi. Who was sitting in the kitchenette with a magazine gripped in his hands.

JJ leaned on Emily's desk while she sat in her chair. While Reid stared intently forward, resting his head in his hand. He was clearly deep in thought.

"Hey guys, what's up?" Lydia asked as she approached. She forced down any emotions that formed on her face. Everything was fine.

Her steps faltered and she turned her head to her coworker's line of sight, which was looking directly above at Hotch's office. She was still confused about what Reid was staring at.

"We were just catching up. Oh boy, look." Emily paused briefly, and nodded her head toward the office window. Penelope was handing Hotch a file, while he had his usual serious face plastered on.

"I so don't miss that face," JJ commented. Lydia heard she had just come back from working at the Pentagon, so she knew she was gone a bit. Yet another reason the team was on edge.

"Isn't that always his face?" Lydia muttered, receiving small laughs from the others.

"You know, no matter how many cases we solve, there's always more." JJ looked over to the other two women and her shoulders sunk.

"That's because murderers don't give us the pleasure of having a schedule," Lydia commented, as she smoothed the hair resting on her shoulders. She decided to wear it down that day.

"Insert Dr. Reid's statistic about active serial killers at any given time here." Emily adds, waving her fingers around, hoping Reid woild join in. To everyone's surprise, he didn't. He remained focused on whatever Rossi was doing across the room.

"Reid?" Emily repeated. Still having no response, JJ lightly whistled at him.

"Spencer..." the blonde attempted to get his attention a final time.

"There's something wrong," Reid finally spoke, not breaking his eye contact.

"Why do you say that?"

"He's been reading the same page for sixteen minutes and twenty-four seconds," He explained, standing up and sitting on the desk next to JJ.

"Maybe it's a really good article?" Emily proposed, shrugging her shoulders.

"It's never taken him longer than eleven minutes, seventeen seconds to turn a page."

"Dude, you seriously know how long it takes-" Lydia scoffed before JJ looked at Lydia with a knowing look that screamed 'let it go'. Emily's mouth cocked to the side as she was also shocked. Nothing should surprise Lydia about the resident boy genius anymore.
