Brandon stepped out of Rikers Island, relieved that the charges against him had been dropped. He walked to the Q100 bus eager to leave the vicinity. He had missed his girlfriend so much, and he couldn't wait to see her and his daughter again. As he got off the bus after a short ride he looked around abd finally felt free. As he walked towards the taxi rank, he noticed the grey clouds above him and felt a few raindrops land on his skin.He got into a cab, and to his surprise, a Bollywood song was playing on the radio. "Excuse me, what song is this?" Brandon asked the cab driver.
The cab driver's face lit up, "This is 'Nashe Si Chadh Gayi' from the Bollywood movie 'Befikre.' It's one of my favorites!" The cab driver then went on to tell Brandon the plot of the movie.
As the song ended, another one started playing, and Brandon recognized it as "Despacito." To his amazement, the cab driver sang along, not missing a beat.
He was beyond happy to be done with that situation.
His girlfriend Adanna was as gorgeous as ever. Sitting in the cab radiating joy.
Brandon and his girlfriend couldn't stop laughing and smiling at each other as they headed home, talking about how they couldn't wait to get home. "I can't wait to get some of that big felonious dick," his girlfriend said, "I've missed you so much, but first you need to be sanitized after being in that icky jail for thirty days." She bit her lip seductively. "I have to be sure you're clean, so I'm getting in the shower with you.
The rain had picked up, but it didn't matter to Brandon. He was happy, holding his girlfriend's hand, listening to the rhythmic music. Brandon sat in the back of a cab with his girlfriend, Adanna, who smelled of lavender and roses. He had been smelling nothing but jail soap and body odor for the past 30 days, and being in the cab with her was a breath of fresh air.
"Thank you so much for standing by me, babe," he said, his voice cracking with emotion.
"Of course, baby," Adanna said, reaching over to hold his hand. "I love you so much."
Brandon smiled, feeling tears prick at the corners of his eyes. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Adanna squeezed his hand. "So, how did the case get dropped?"
Brandon took a deep breath, his heart racing as he remembered the court hearing. "I was facing up to two years, but the victim never came to court, so they dropped the charges."
Adanna let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God. I'm so happy you're out."
Brandon nodded, his stomach growling. When he found out earlier that he was being released he skipped breakfast and lunch "I'm sick of jail food. I'm never eating it again. And baby i think I sprained my wrist from jerkin all this dick."
Adanna laughed. "I don't blame you. But don't worry, I'll cook you a feast when we get home. Then im gonna ride you so good your toes break from curling so hard"
Brandon grinned knowing that she was capable of doing that and she was a woman of her word. "I can't wait. And thanks for putting money on my account so I could call you and buy snacks."
Adanna waved her hand dismissively. "Don't mention it. I just wanted to make sure you were okay."
Brandon leaned over to kiss her, feeling overwhelmed with gratitude. "You're the best, and I cant wait to show you later."
This turned Adanna on. "Oh, and by the way, your daughter is with your mom."
Brandon's heart swelled with love for his mom. She had always been there for him, especially when his drug addict girlfriend abandoned their baby in Wyandanch, Long Island.
