You were one of the first to be admitted to Mayhaven Asylum. You've been here since you were ten. How old were you now? Seventeen? You weren't sure anymore. You've been here for about seven years. All because of a stupid mistake. All because you didn't know what you were doing.
You were here because you predicted the future, and couldn't give a reason why besides "I dreamed it". You were told multiple times "It's a phase" or "You were just dreaming." That when you were proved right, you were sent here. Away from your mother, father and two older siblings. They haven't come to visit you once, and from what you dream, they never will.
You're strangely okay with that. You're quite comfortable here, as long as you keep your mouth shut. In fact, you're pretty sure most of the nurses think you burnt out your vocal chords or something. Most of them ask you how you're doing. If your voice or head hurt. If you need any water.
You just shake your head. You haven't said a word since you got here. You think that's what scares them the most. They don't know why you're here, or even what your name is. All the nurses who did know you are long gone now. They're all either dead or fired.
Again, you're strangely okay with that. You saw it coming. You were meant to be alone. After all, you had such great power. It should never be shared. With anyone.
