There it is, the ship everyone has been talking about.

Every description I've heard of it, fit it. It was gigantic, spacious, beautiful and a real work of art.

It was the Titanic.

The ship they said even God himself couldn't sink.

"Evangeline, dear hurry up." Mother called

I sighed and quickly followed after her, my sister Rose, my parent's friends and my sister's fiance Caledon Hockley aka Cal.

Right, I should introduce myself. My name is Evangeline DeWitt Bukater. I am of two children born to my parents and I am the oldest by a year. My sister Rose is the second born of the family. My parents are the only ones to have two girls and no boys

"Eva, do hurry up." Cal called out to me

I rolled my eyes "Coming Cal." I said quickly catching up to him and my sister

Cal held his arm out for me to take and with a sigh and roll of my eyes, I took it. We boarded the ship and was told where to go for our rooms. Lucky for me I had a room to myself! I do feel bad for my dear baby sister Rose. She's only sixteen and our mother is marrying her off to Cal who is years older than her.

Mother did try to marry me off to Cal but that didn't work out in her favor nor Cal's.

Once I was in my room, I begun to put away my things. After that was finished I met up with mother, Rose and Cal on the deck.

"Mother, I am going to have a look around." I said

She merely nodded and continued on with her and Cal's conversation.

"I am going with you." Rose said getting up and following me

"Do be back by dinner girls." Cal said smiling

I rolled my eyes "Yes, Cal." I said and walked away with Rose hot on my heels

"Thank God you said you were going to look around!" Rose said "I was beginning to get bored with their conversation."

I chuckled "You'll be dealing with that for the rest of your life dear sister."

She frowned "You're lucky."

I glanced at her "Why's that?"

"You're not engaged to some guy who is years older than you. Mother isn't pressuring you into marrying him and you get to meet people and who knows you might even fall in love!" She said wistfully

I smiled "Rose, you may not have chosen to marry Cal but I see the love you have for him." I said and she looked at me shocked that I knew that "It's ok, I'm not mad. I did everything I could to end what would've been an engagement to him. But if anyone is lucky, it is you. You get to get married and have babies!"
