We splashed into the ice cold water, making my wound burn up even more.
I struggled to stay afloat and gasped for air everytime I surfaced.Whilst trying to locate my wound, I looked over to the three boys that didn't suspect anything. They were laughing and celebrating.
I swam closer to them.
"Something pierced me Neteyam" I said, concerned.
Neteyam's face dropped upon hearing my words. Slowly but surely I felt my limbs go numb from all the blood loss. The water around me turned deep red and anxiety started creeping in.
Was this the damage the weird weapon could cause?Neteyam rushed towards me and steadied me. They all helped me to return to the others as I was too weak to even stay afloat.
I was laid down on a big rock, its edges felt sharper and and more painful than usual.
Everyone watched over me in curiosity or concern. Soon I felt the little amount of strength I had left leave my body.
I was so weak and scared.I looked over to Neteyam, who had been stroking my cheek in an attempt to comfort me - or himself.
A sharp pain ran through my body. I felt my throat closing up in fright as I gasped for air.
Was this... it?
Would my, no, our journey...
end here?I looked into the sky and avoided eye contact with the others to stop myself from getting even more stressed. The expressions in their eyes made me even more vulnerable.
I felt another sharp pain where the wound was. I realized it must've meant the adrenaline in my body had worn off and I finally felt the consequences of the shot.
I had completely avoided my surroundings: Ronal's doing, Neteyam stroking my cheek, Tsireya whining and pleading, Lo'ak looking at me guiltily and Spider concerned even though he had known me for about 15 minutes.
Then everything came to me, louder than normal. A ringing in my ears appeared.
I hissed in pain.
Scared, I looked at my Neteyam. If this was my last moment here, in this body, I'd cherish it.
Suddenly all of my doubts left me and I began regretting ever wasting another thought on unimportant things.
I hadn't cherished this place in my clan... My relationship with Neteyam and neither my body.My strong, poor body. I had judged it just like everyone else.
Hot tears ran down my face.
"Neteyam, I think..." I muttered. My voice sounded so hoarse, I was surprised myself."Don't talk, Ki. Don't waste your last energy. This is no goodbye." He said, getting louder and louder by the minute.
"You will be fine. I promise!" By then he was in tears aswell.I heard someone talk in a distance. Their voice echoed in my aching head.
"Look, the demon got what it deserves! Finally Eywa-"
Neteyam abruptly stood up.
"Say her name" He hissed in a sharp and high voice."Huh?" They answered.
"Say her name!"
Those were the last words I heard from my Neteyam. He was so upset.
I wish he'd let me say goodbye.
I woke up in a weird room. It was so bright, I had to cover my eyes. Somehow it looked like the walls were glowing.
Slowly I stood up, unsure of where I was and why. I didn't remember anything that happened before so that added to my confusion.
Walking around clumsily, still covering my eyes, I saw someone in a close distance.
I jumped in surprise.
"Who is this? Where am I?" I asked, backing away slowly.
