Let me be your support // Izuku x Mei

Chapter 6

Footsteps resounded throughout the corridor, very few people were there, being Friday some decided to go out, others would study at the schools library, after all, exams are just around the corner. Izuku stood out, while feeling a kind of anxiety when heading to Hatsume's workshop, he checked his phone, it was 3:50. He breathed in a shaky breath when suddenly he collided with someone abruptly.

He immediately went into apology mode, a sudden laugh causing him to snap out of it and see who he carelessly slammed into, his nervousness did not improve when he saw Power Loader, before he could return into apology mode, Power Loader spoke up.

"Midoriya! I was looking all over for you." he exclaimed.

"Is.. is there something wrong?" His gentle voice contrasted with his raspy one.

"Things doesn't have to be wrong for me to talk to you, you know." he let out a light cough, "Anyway, I heard you'll be Hatsume's new partner for her project."

"Yeah, I was on my way there right now." He asked.

"I'm just glad she found someone to rely on, this means the world to her and I'm glad she chose you."

His words had made him think, is it really this big of a deal? He grew more nervous all of the sudden. His kind words had a different effect than expected.

"Anyhow, I won't  take anymore of your time, you got somewhere to be." he said before walking past the green-haired hero, giving him a light pat on the shoulder.

It was currently 3:56, he stood in front of the massive reinforced metal door, upon inspection, the thought of an explosion taking this door down, Hatsume wouldn't probably be with us. He knocks on the door, only for it to open automatically, when on the other side, it would sealed itself. His eyes immediately found the inventor, once again working under the motor of her 'baby'.

"H-hatsume, I'm here." He annonce rather quietly.

She looks at him strangely as she gets out from under the vehicle. "Do you need something?"

"Wha- I thought... You don't."

An outrageous and overwhelming laughter could be heard throughout the workshop. "HAHAHA i'm just messing with you Midoriya. I'm glad you came. catch!" She throws him a pair of blue overalls. "This will be your hero suit for today."

"O-okay." the young hero would put on his overalls over his normal clothes. He looked at Hatsume, who was already working on the gas tank. "What are we going to do?"

She gave him a rattle tool with his 10mm socket. "We are going to disassemble the turbocharger and the injector rail, lately it loses power very quickly and that's not right. Take the compressor off while I measure the pressure on the rail."

The look on his face was priceless for the inventor. He didn't understand a word that came out of her mouth, what could he say? He didn't want to improvise because out of precaution, he wanted to help but didn't know how.

Hatsume's smile was teasing but tender and soft at the same time, which didn't make Izuku feel bad for his lack of knowledge of basic mechanics. "Look, just remove these bolts," she took the tool in his hands, "This is used like this to unscrew and like this to screw, got it?"

Now letting him take control of the tool, she goes to the opposite side to continue what she was doing. But for the green haired hero, things weren't going so smoothly. He forgot the sense of tightening and loosening, leaving him motionless, with the tool in the screw and the sight pinned.

How was it to unscrew? She just told me and I already forgot. Will she think I'm an idiot if I asked? It's the first thing she asks me to do and I already ruined it, I didn't think it would be this hard. Maybe I'm just garbage..."
