Chapter 20 - Commitment

I woke up in the morning and sat in the mess hall with Connie, Sasha, Reiner and Bertholdt. Conny and Sasha were slumped over and dazed meanwhile Reiner had went to go find a game for us to play and Berthold, he was just being Bertholdt. 'This is so boringggg,' I rested my head on the table and stared out of the window. 'I wonder what she's doing right now.'

Annie POV:

"Armin. . . It's lucky that I was a 'good person' for you. It looks like your gamble paid off for now. . . But . . . This is where mine begins!" I brought my finger up preparing to blow this place to hell when Armin fires a smoke signal out distracting me. Piles of men and women fly out from alley ways, corners, and behind roofs. They all slam into me trying to restrain me and tackle me to the ground, before I could bite my tongue they slid a piece of cloth in and kept my mouth from closing.

'Good effort, but it isn't enough.' I slide open the blade hidden in my ring and sliced open my finger transforming creating a thunderous bolt of lightning. As the bodies around me disintegrated I shoved my hand inside of the tunnel to try and grab them. 'They're not going to make this easy are they.' I gritted my teeth pulling my hand out of the tunnel and looking for something else to use. I saw a grate in the ground and heard voices just barely.

'Here goes nothing.' I stomped in the grate and looking in saw Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. 'I'm going to have to take risks, or I'll never get Eren out of there.' I continued stomping holes into the ground until two cloaked figures ran out of the tunnels two holes I punched in. 'It has to be Armin and Mikasa, if Eren was coming out he would've transformed already.' Suddenly Eren erupted out from inside the tunnel slamming his fist into me and sending me flying backwards into a chapel building. 'So he finally got the courage to transform.' I got up and started running. 'If I'm going to be fighting both the survey corps and Eren I'll fight on my own terms. I need an open area.' Seeing survey corps members catching up behind me I dragged my hands through the line of buildings ripping them apart and sending shards of them towards them stopping their advance.

Running to an open area towards the wall I see Eren following close behind me. Stopping on the edge of the field I shatter a tall building that some of the scouts were hiding in and face Eren. 'This shouldn't be too hard, last time we fought he was extremely reckless, this time I know what he's going to do.' Eren goes head first throwing a hard punch at my face. I block raising an elbow and hardening it deflecting his punch down into the ground, I follow up with a kick to the head but Eren blocks it grabbing my leg and tossing me over a row of building and into the next. 'This time I won't be able to capture him, I'm getting out of here. There's an ever increasing amount of soldiers surrounding us and Eren will just keep getting up over and over.' Feeling the desperation start to set in I pick myself up fast and avoid an incoming Eren. I turn around to face him in a long street and he charges in yet again ready to go headfirst. 'You're not getting off easy this time.' I slam my hardened shin into his severing his leg at the knee and sending a shockwave through the surrounding streets. He launches a hard punch anyways and I block with both hands but still slide back a decent amount. He charges at me on all fours and I slam him into the building to the left with a strong kick bashing his face in and repeatedly slamming my fist into his head until he could no longer resist. 'Now please, stay down.' I started running towards the walls to escape.

Reaching the Wall I begin to scale it and once I reached about half way up I noticed Mikasa zipping up the wall in my peripheral vision. Before I could even react she zooms past me severing one of my hands fingers from the wall. 'No, wait. . . I'm so close. . .' Just as fast she severs the other hands fingers and lands on my face while I descend.
