Chapter 11 - Fall of Trost Pt. 3

The cadets finished filling up their gas and we all took the lift to go back outside, but I wanted to do something else first. 'I need to see that Titan again.' As everybody cheered rushing out of the building and making a run for it I went to the side to go watch the Titan fight off the remaining ones. 

Looking around I saw Mikasa and Armin standing on a roof and looking at the Titan and decided to join them. 

"That Titan." Mikasa said shifting Armins attention towards the Titan.

"They're cannibalizing it. . . I guess it can't regenerate its body." Armin said quietly. 'That thing better not actually die. It might as well be dead though if none of us go to help it.'  As more came up to watch and started talking I tuned them out focusing my attention on the Titan from before that was desperately trying to break free from the Titans eating him. Suddenly the Titan reinvigorated with a burst of energy throws all the titans off if and charges at a tall skinny one walking nearby. 'What? It's targeting that one specifically? ' The Titan used its mouth clamping down on the nape pulling its body along and slamming it into another Titan coming up behind it sending it flying into the buildings. It then let go of the Titan in its mouth and let out a sickening scream. 

"What was it you wanted to save again?" Jean sarcastically remarked to the rest of the group. Just then the Titans voice died down and it collapsed turning into another steaming mess like the rest of them. "Alright that's enough lets get going." However we all ignored Jean starring at the nape of the Titan to which something seemed to be emerging from. I saw as a battered Eren pulled himself out of the Titan before passing out sitting up.

"There she goes." I remarked as Mikasa anchored down onto the ground rushing to hold him. She came back holding a passed out Eren before we filed Trost back to the interior but on the way the garrison, armed with muskets and blades took Eren before we got slapped with an order not to speak of what happened and were sent off to join the rest of the cadets excluding Armin and Mikasa who refused to leave Eren.

"What do you think they're gonna do to him?" I asked Annie while we waited atop the roofs for something.

"Either interrogate or kill him. Depends on how gutsy the person in charge is." Annie looked at me. "If he turns into a Titan on them though things would get bloody." 

I laid back against the roof with my hands behind my head. "Eren looked exhausted do you think he'd even be able to transform again?" I asked.

 "Possibly, it's not like we know how his powers work anyways."

"How much you want to bet the garrison fires on him. I'm almost positive they will, that captain looked like a scared puppy." I sarcastically said laughing to myself. 

"If only they were calmer and though rationally." She sat next to me on the roof. "That's something I never understood about you. How you can be so nervous during training and so calm when things matter."

"I don't really know why either. I just don't really stress about things, let my mind go blank and take things as they come ya know."

"You're right. People stress too much, and it makes them perform worse. How about you? What do you think they're going to do to Eren?" Just then the loud boom of a cannon echoed throughout the air and immediately Annie got up pulling me up with her.

"I think that answers it." I said chuckling. 

"Come on." She said jumping off the room and zipping over towards the cannon fire. I sprang off the roof after her and eventually caught up with her on top of a roof. As the smoke cleared we both saw the skeleton of the upper body of a titan with muscles on one hand and half the chest. 'Is that Eren?  They must've fired a cannon at him and he transformed.'
