Love...
Loved...
Lived...
Hoped...
Ever so willing of life...
Ever so proud...
Everything what 'just a girl' could dream of .
She was a tool and a treasure
Used and pampered;
Everything ever handed to her
Was her's now, only burning in ashes.
Got praised, got criticized...
Hopes, hopes...
hopes, only that gave in a lot of fame;
What 'just a girl' desires.
Every direction led to one;
One that sang of her,
One she knew every line to,
One they called  'just a girl'.
Till one day she started running the race...
Won twice but never got the prize;
Felt the ground so rough, so hard,
Deep scratches tied her down to her knees...
So deep....veins ran her race
Till her blood traced her path
Paved her way to golden victory.
'Just a girl' they say,
Yet here they are forced to keep their hands in action,
Forced to look up
At that one 'just a girl'.
