RANDAVE

This that story where I learned that are things in life that cannot be undone.

I have made mistakes, sins that could never be redeemed, one that I thought I would be able to forget but even a mere memory can hunt me forever.

Let's begin 5 years from where we left off, March of 2027.

"Ting-a-ling-ling, Ting-aling-aling" my phone buzzed. Picking up my phone, I let my eyes wander around. "Are you there already?" Reeven Talukan, my best friend asked. "Yep, where are you?"

"On the way" he replied making my eyebrow shot up when I heard the unmistakable sound of water running. "Really?" I asked, mockingly. A laughter was heard on the other line. "I'll see you in ten" he finally said before hanging up. "More like thirty" I mumbled.

Today is the day of our batch reunion, we actually did graduate, can you believe that? After the murder of the star section or something they like to call the 'Star murder case', our school went through some serious shit. Reporters, police, protestors surrounded the school for two months. There were a bunch of gossips, some were true, some were not.

Although the most mystery part of it wasn't the way the bodies have been properly rested or the way the majority of the victims were losing an organ, it was the fact that the murderer didn't seem to have exist at all. There were DNAs found but none of them matched anyone else's and considering that almost all the victimized came from a rich family, they managed to get the DNAs matched with whole world's and yet the result that came back was none.

I knew that they were right, but don't know that, do they?

"Hey! Randave Anderson, is it?" Turning to face the direction of that voice, I was met by a brunette girl, "Yes and you are?" I replied. A small smile appeared on her face, "Lenie Santos, one of the organizers" she introduced and holding her hand out. I nodded taking her hand.

"So what do you think?" she asked making herself comfortable beside where I stood. "It's-It's brilliant" I answered. Her smile grew bigger  "I'm glad" she said "We came up with this to check on you guys especially since our school didn't end on a good note"

I copied her smile, "Well, that's very thoughtful of you" Lenie snorted shaking her head, "Oh it's not me who thought of this idea" My eyebrows rose, "Really?" She nodded "Yeah it was Tolentino"

"Who is-" "DUDE!" I started to ask when my neck snapped towards that direction. "Hi" Reeven greeted Lenie once he was standing next us and the latter smiling in return. "LENIE!" Three heads turned to the direction of the shout. "I better go, afraid the event won't succeed without me" She chuckled before running towards the girl who called for her. Reeven and I shared one glance at each other before laughing.

Why are we laughing?

I don't know

"How's law school?" I wheezed, trying to calm down, "Oh, It's terrible" and successfully failing. "Feels like I have to become Einstein just to finish it" he continued, also laughing. After a while that probably will make people think we're crazy if they look at us.

"So I take it that the business is blooming?' He asked, "Yep, you should come by sometimes" He raised his left eyebrow, I really never know how he does that. "Is there a discount?"

"You? Discount?" I echoed, "Hell no" A betrayed look appeared on his face and I was sure he was about to say something dramatic when we were interrupted by the music being blasted through the room.

As the clocks continues to tick, more people came in and I've already lost count on how many times I've said the words "Hi", "Hello", "Nice to see you", "How have you been?". When I finally had enough, I excused myself to get some fresh air when I bumped into someone.

"Oh I am shorry, sher" I crouched down on one knee to meet the child's eyes. "It's alright, where's your parents?" "Shawn!" Both of us turned to the speaker. "Mommy" the child said before running towards Aurielle. "Randave, is that you?" She spoke once she met my eyes. "Indeed, I didn't know you already settled down, Aurielle"

She smiled softly, "It's not easy but God has given me a reason to continue living" I nodded, "Good for you" because I haven't find a reason to move on.

"Mommy, letsh go" Shawn mumbled. "He's very fond of the sweets" Aurielle explained before letting her son pull her towards the sweets. I let out a breath and continued to shuffle in my feet as I made my way outside.

Why am I here?

\When I've received the letter og invitation for this day, what was thinking when I decided to go when I knew that I would only suffer?

Coming here has proved that everybody else have moved on and yet here I am still dreading what has happen, still full of what if's, still full of what should have been, the past is still at the back of my mind surviving to stay alive and remind of what I should have done and what I shouldn't have done.

"That is some deep thinking" I jumped at the calm voice before turning to look at the speaker. There stood a woman with long black hair, ripped jeans and a swearshirt. The smell of ciggarette hit my nose making me sneeze. She chuckled as let out a smoke. "Who are you?" I asked hastly "Does it matter?" she retorted, giving me a quick glance. Before I could speak, she continued speaking, "It is beautiful night and yet an ugly frown has appeared on your face?" A lump formed on my throat as I fail to find the right words to say. "What is done cannot be undone, what has been cannot be changed" she said before letting out another smoke.

"It's always nice to look back at the past once in a while, darling"
