Riiiiiiiiiing, there goes the bell, dismissing the class for today. Melanie quickly packed her bags and head out of the classroom. The school grounds were filled with parents picking up their kids. Melanie called a cab and a few minutes later, the cab came. As she got in, from the other side of the door, she saw a boy and a girl her age hopping in. Melanie sat down beside them, expecting the driver to say or do something, but no, the driver just drove off, and stranger, she went a different route. That was when the girl next to her spoke: "Please, please, drive us far, far away, a murderer, a follower is trying to to kill me, and this is my friend Varian and I am Mia" she said. The driver silently nodded as we headed far away from the city.
"What about me?" Melanie asked them, in a half mad tone, "Can you just drop me home? I really want to go home." "Nope, you can't, at least I don't think so" Mia replied with a jokingly voice. "You really can't, since if we head to your home, the murderers will know your location" Varian explained as Melanie groaned in annoyance. "Don't be so mad, the more the merrier" Mia smiled. "Merry in your head" Melanie mumbled "And how are you so sure they are following us?""Look outside dear" the driver said, everyone was surprised, it was the first time she talked for hours. "I am Milura and as you can see there is a car with no number plate following us" "See, I'm not ly-" But before Mia could finish her sentence, there was a sudden bang. "Ah crap, they hit us at the back" Milura said "Get your seatbelts cause we are speeding up" she said as she hit the gas pedal.
Few hours later.....
"Phew, we outrun them" Milura said as everyone sighed in relief, a sudden rumble caught everyones attention. "Oops sorry, I skipped lunch today" Varian said. That's when it hit them, they need food, but they can't walk outside of the car just yet, and there were no grocery stores nearby they could buy food. "What time is it?" Melanie asked. Mia shoved her phone in Melanie's face as it showed 7 pm. They realized that they have been on this cab for hours. "Let's rest" Milura said, "And here, eat this" she said as she shoved a small packet of Chocopie into Varian's hand. Milura dosed off on the driver's seat. And soon, a few minutes later, all of them fell asleep, except Melanie. She couldn't just sleep while someone is watching, following them, and what about her parents, probably they are crazily searching for her.
Hmm?
"Wake up !" someone shouted as she realized Mia was shaking her, they were moving, again from the bumpy road. "What's happening?" Melanie asked in shock. "They found us" Milura explained as she hit the gas pedal. "How about we call for help?" Melanie said as she grabbed her phone, then it struck her. Yes, her phone is on, that means her location tracker is on and her parents could find them. But to her dismay the tracker was mysteriously turned off. "I am so sorry but I turned off everyones phone location tracker so they wouldn't have a chance to track us. And dragging more people into this wouldn't be a good idea" Mia said. Again, annoyed by the girl's behavior, Melanie sulked and look out of the window. It is pitch dark, as her stomach grumbles, she stuffed herself with some Chocopie and went to sleep.
