Screaming was the first thing that was heard by Melanie in the morning. Not the type of screaming in fear, but in happiness, in relief. A gentle tap on Melanie's shoulder made her eyes fully opened. "Wake up" A familiar voice said. It was Milura, alongside with Mia smiling, Varian still sleeping like a log beside Melanie. "I know the exit of this place, follow me" Melanie stood up while giving Varian a piggyback ride. "You look better, Mia" Melanie said. "Yeah, my lungs feel better" Mia replied with a grin. "What?" Melanie asked. "Nothing, its just that I am surprised that you cared for how I am" Mia explained smiling. "Ah ha, you are right Mia, looks like cold Scarlet has melted a bit." Varian teased. "I was never careless or cold, I just care about other things more" Melanie retorted. They followed Milura to a room where it continuously shooting arrows, then, they climb a ladder in the rain of arrows, when they reached a vent, Milura broke the vent, they crawled through. "Are you sure this is the exit?" Melanie ask. "I am sure" Milura assured them. After a while of crawling, they finally see light. Excited, they jumped down and all hopped in the car as Milura drove off. In the backseat, the kids dig through the groceries and gobbled up a bag of chips. "Milura, you aren't doing your makeup today?" Mia asked. "No, not today I guess, I am trying not to for a while" Milura replied. "Oh okay" Mia said and shoved some mints in her mouth. Melanie grabbed a stack of poker out from the bag. "Let's play this" Melanie said. Mia divided the cards and they started playing. "Now where do go?" Varian asked while chewing on some gum. "Mia knows where we are, your summer house, which is about some miles away from here, we will take about 2 days starting from today" *(Day 4 is the first day that they started going to the house, so apparently if Milura's calculation is correct, than on day 6 they would arrive) Milura replied. "But isn't that dangerous, like I mean wouldn't the "hunters" search there?" Melanie questioned suspiciously. "You are right, but that would be the first place they would check, so if they don't see us there they would have move to other places to check already." Milura explained. Melanie nodded in agreement then continued playing the cards. At this point, the car smelt so bad that Milura had to open the windows to freshen the air. Then, after playing cards for 1 hour straight, they cleaned up and slump on the chair, bored. Suddenly, it rained, thunder clapped as Mia pouted, scared by the thunder, she huddled into Varian, who was also scared of thunders. Melanie opened and ate another bag of chips, listened to music while gazing outside the pouring rain. Each drop fell satisfyingly onto the car's roof. Varian snoring could be heard every corner of the car, Mia also had dosed off . Melanie rest her chin on her palm, she could feel her eyes' weight increasing, she fluttered her eyes, trying to stay awake "You should really do some make-up, Mi-" Before she could finish, Melanie had fallen asleep.
4 hours later
"Wake up, you guys have slept for 4 hours already" Milura called. The children stirred a little, the slowly opened their eyes. Varian, for the first time in the whole trip, woke up when someone actually called him without violence, he yawned. "What time is it?" He asked while still yawning, as if he hadn't slept in days. "About 5 in the afternoon" Melanie replied. Then, she looked at the bag of chips which was opened for 4 hours, Melanie looked at it again and started mourning over the soggy chips while shoving them in her mouth, crunching them between her teeth. "What do we do now?" Varian asked. "We could play cards?" Mia suggested. "Nah, you guys could play, but won't join, I played that for like an hour already and always lose this" Melanie complained. After playing cards for another hour. Mia and Varian felt bored, even more bored than Melanie. "Let's have dinner now?" Milura asked. "Yes please!" All of the passengers yelled in happiness. The kids went scavenger hunting through the bags and took some can food out. Each got a share of 2 tins. One vegetable tin, one tuna fish tin was cut by the knife that Milura bought, plastic spoons were used to eat. "This is so good" Varian exclaimed. People who ate this meal right now would have been complaining for more, but for people who had went through such adventures, nothing could taste better than this. After the meal, Varian went on scavenger hunt mode and started going through the trunk. "Look, a neck pillow, we can use this." Mia pointed. For the rest of the three hours, the kids were so bored, they take turns talking about a topic they desired to say. Then, bedtime came. Mia and Varian snuggled on to Melanie, who ended up at the middle of the two for some reason. Welp, but at least Melanie had the neck pillow, which she was very pleased about.
