Jyn

Jyn's back was still sore from being thrown on the ground by that imperial-looking droid when he 'rescued' her. The cuffs around her wrists bit into her skin. She sighed as she looked out the window. They were landing on Yavin IV, the rebel base, she was told. She had heard about the rebel base from Saw but they never knew where it was located. She was used to the hustle and bustle in Saw's caverns but this was on a much larger scale.

As the doors of the ship opened, a security officer in a camel coloured suit and a white helmet approached her.

"Come with me," he said briskly. He pulled Jyn up by her arm rather suddenly and firmly. She winced. She had never really been treated well by anyone apart from Saw, so she was used to this. Still, it was unnecessary.

As they walked through the hangar, Jyn scanned the area, studying the different types of ships and just taking in the busyness around her. They were organized, these rebels. She noticed the different uniforms for ground workers and pilots. Some were dressed like her chaperone, who went up to another officer that she assumed was his superior. They conferred for a while and talked in low tones.

The other looked up at her and then at his colleague. "They're waiting for her in the briefing room. Go now," he said. "I have to give the Captain the debrief report."

"I'll bring her over right after she is processed, sir."

They walked up to another officer standing next to a control panel and an astromech droid. Some minutes passed as information was relayed to the officer and entered into the system.

As she waited, she glanced up at a man with dark hair and dark eyes passing by her with the officer they had just met. She noticed him because he wasn't wearing any uniform, just ecru pants and a dark jacket over his cream-coloured shirt. She could see a blaster in the holster strapped around his waist. They disappeared into the barracks.

The officer she was with suddenly spun around and tugged her sharply by her arm.

"Hey!" she yelled at him, "Get your hands off me."

He glowered at her and nudged her along using the back of his weapon.

"Come on. Walk."

"No need to be rude," glared Jyn at him.

They walked towards the barracks. As they approached the doors, the officer picked up speed. The doors slid open and he placed his hand on her shoulder and nudged to push her through.

Jyn's temper flared.

"I said, get your hands off me!" she screamed at him and what happened next was a blur to her. She just reacted instinctively.

The next thing she knew, the tip of his blaster gun was pressed up against her neck.

"Hey, hey, hey," said the man with the dark eyes, "That isn't necessary."

He must've been someone important because the prick off an officer apologized immediately. She was still reeling from the altercation and was on edge.

There was something soothing in his voice as he spoke to her. As she looked at him, she could feel the anger dissipating. Unsure what to do, she looked down at the ground. He pointed the dickhead officer towards a set of doors and they walked slowly through them.

She was sat down on a chair in the middle of the room, facing a spherical console. It looked like it contained digital maps.

A man they called General Draven walked up to her.

"You're currently calling yourself Liana Hallick," he said, "Is that correct?"

As he started listing out things she had done in the past, Jyn was still unsure why she was there. Was she on trial for something or did they want something from her? A woman wearing a white draped robe stood before her at the head of the main console.

"What is this?" Jyn asked impatiently.

"It's a chance for you to make a fresh start," the woman said calmly. "We think you might be able to help us."

She continued, "This is Captain Cassian Andor. Rebel Intelligence."

Jyn turned her head to the left and saw him walking towards her.
