All ten students arrived around noon at the mansion on that simple Monday morning, not expecting how that Monday would change each of their lives. After each had arrived separately, the host Brandon Jones ushered them all into the meeting room where they all would be spending most of their time and where the group activities would happen.
Kara and Landon immediately became attached at the hip being the only two who knew anything about the other except for the other’s name. They all nervously took a seat wondering what would be announced and why they were chosen for the ‘science experiment’.
“Welcome to Social Circle, my name is Brandon Jones and I will be in charge of all the activities and challenges here. Let me explain a bit more about this program. Each of you were selected for your diverse personalities and social statuses at school. We didn’t want any two social circles to be the same. The most similar we have would be Kara and Landon, our musicians, and they barely know each other. This program is meant to examine each of you in character, bonds, and strength in yourself. You each will get to know every person in here better than you have ever known anyone else. You will create bonds these two months you never thought possible. You all will become like a family here…….so when your senior year starts next year you will all have each other to lean on and hopefully become an example for all others in your school about how people from other social groups can bond,” he spoke clearly.
“Wait…..so basically if we stay here for two months and bond with these other kids we get one hundred thousand dollars? That’s it?” Joshua Powell, the jock, asked.
“Well you have challenges and other things you have to do, but practically yes…..” Brandon trailed off with a hint of a smile knowing that there were hidden cameras everywhere……but he knew he couldn’t mention that.
“Sweet!” Josh said happily crossing his arms over his chest.
“Now, our first challenge will be probably the simplest and easiest challenge. Room assignments; now under this roof no sex in YOUR room allowed, got it?” he asked looking mostly at Richard and Ariel (Our two sluts). Purposely not mentioning the hint that as long as it wasn’t in their room it could happen……Reality TV shows can’t live without it.
“TWO MONTHS!” they both shouted obviously in disbelief.
“You can survive for two months without sex in YOUR room…….” he said winking at them.
Apparently they understood the hint because they looked at each other and smiled. Kara, the wallflower, in response to the uncomfortable conversation shifted on the couch blushing. “Now back to the challenge there will be one girl and one boy to each room. Reasoning is simple it’s more of a challenge and we have an equal number of boys and girls, it will also teach you to respect the opposite sex, that lesson will help you in married life or in a relationship later in your life,” he said.
They all nodded, “Now, I WOULD let you pick your roommate, but that would be too simple wouldn’t it? But no fear, you will be trading roommates every week and a half, to get a deeper connection with each person in here. Now your first roommates will be as follows: Josh and Jennifer, Kara and Richard, Shelby and Landon, Ariel and Pete, Sophie and Jacob. Now, for the next challenge unpacking, here is each of your room assignments. Be down in one hour for our first bonding activity,” Brandon spoke too excitedly for his own good.
The students groaned as they stomped they’re way upstairs muttering how stupid this was and how this would never work, and how they were only here for the money. As each reached their room there was a very tense conversation involved with each set of roommates.
