Chapter 4: A strange feeling

~Fall's POV~

I quickly but quietly run back to my room. What did I just hear? Was father lying or was he telling the truth? Only one way to find out I need to ask him but I can't us children were meant to be in bed, I wasn't he'll yell at me. Maybe I'll just go ask Itachi in the morning during training if he did almost die or not. I crawl into my bed and curl up closing my eyes slowly falling into a restless sleep.

~Next morning~

~Itachi's POV~

Fall has been training for the last 3 hours but she seems off her game today, what's wrong with her? Did father speak to her? Did she see something wrong? Whatever it is I'm sure she'll be fine but I better check.

"Fall! Come here for a minute please." She walks over panting slightly.

"What's wrong with you today? You're not focusing at all." I question her kneeling down to her height to try and look into her eyes, but she looks towards the dirt.

"Did you almost die on your last mission Itachi? Please don't lie either." She says with a hint of sadness and disappointment in her voice, I sigh looking down.

"Yes Fall I did, but I'm alive thankfully. Where did you hear that?" I look at her and she's now looking at me, her eyes clearly tearing up but she wipes the tears away.

"From father, I heard him talking to mother last night and I know why he doesn't want me to become a ninja." She sniffs and looks back at the ground.

"Why doesn't he want you becoming a ninja Fall?" I lift her chin up but she pushes my hand away.

"Doesn't matter, let's just train." Is all she says before walking off and continuing with her training. Now how do I find out what he said to mother last night, I can't confront him because he'll get mad that Fall wasn't in bed when she should've been. This is a tricky one.

A few hours later we head back to the compound, I freeze suddenly making Fall stop with me as I quickly look around with my sharingan on.

"What's wrong Itachi? Is there someone here besides us?" She looks up while holding my arm. I shake my head and turn my sharingan off.

"No, no ones here Fall. I thought I heard something though but it's nothing let's just get back to the compound." She smiles her sweet smile that everyone loves to see and nods, we continue walking and finally arrive back safely at the compound but I can't shake this feeling I have of someone watching us.
