*Ciel's POV*
I continue to give orders as the others continued to fire at Leona in order to save Ruggie from being killed. But it didn't help that the gusts of sand were protecting Leona and preventing us from getting Ruggie out of there. I watched as more cracks formed and spread as it reached his throat, we were running out of time.
"If you have that much power, why do this?!" Riddle demanded as the others were panting.
"'Why?' What do you care, kid? You gonna scold me? Try to talk me down? Don't you get it? Power alone ain't enough to make waves in this world. Look at Ruggie here. He's like a muzzled dog. Pathetic, ain't it? Hard not to pity him." Leona stated as the cracks continued to spread all over Ruggie's body.
"Urrr...ggghhh..." Ruggie groans out in pain again
"That's enough! 'Unleash the Beast!'" Jack shouts in anger
Next thing all of us knew was that there was a flash of light where Jack was standing, which made us closed our eyes. When we opened them we were shock to see a big wolf in Jack's place as it was glaring at Leona. It took a few minutes for all of us to realize that the wolf was none other than Jack himself.
"What just—" Riddle was taken aback
"AAAAARRRRROOOOO! GRRRRR! AAARRROOO!" Jack growls as he looked at Leona
"He...transformed?!" I exclaim in shock
"Whoa, what just—Gah!" Leona was hit by Jack, causing him to be dazed.
"Riddle, look!" I stated as Riddle nods
"He broke Leona's concentration! 'Off With Your Head!'" Riddle used his signature spell on Leona once more, this time the collar formed around his neck.
"GAAAAAH!" Leona cried out as he dropped Ruggie to the floor and began to claw at the collar in anger as the gusts of sand vanishes.
"*gasp*... *cough* *cough*" Ruggie was on his knees as he tried to catch his breath as the cracks slowly fades.
"That was beautiful, Riddle! You stopped Leona's magic cold!" Cater said with a smile
"I'm so glad that he did..." I said in relief
"And he let go of Ruggie! This way, quickly!" Deuce stated, we rush over to him and quickly drag him away.
"Sebek, Let's get the wounded somewhere safe." The silvered haired boy suggested to the green haired boy.
"Do not presume to order me around, Silver!" Sebek stated back but does as suggested
'...And he proceeds to do it anyways...' I thought with a sweatdrop at the sight.
"No... NO! You can't collar a lion! And Jack! How did you... Transformation potions are forbidden! Where did you get that?" Leona demanded as Jack transformed back to normal
"I didn't use a potion—that's my signature spell. With it I can transform myself into a wolf." Jack explains as Leona laughs bitterly.
"Ha! What's that saying? Every dog has his day? Well I guess you had yours!"
"Is he... Trying to make fun of Jack?" I mutter as I couldn't believe what I was seeing
"Housewarden Leona, I want you to know... I only came to this school because of how much I admired you! What happened to the man you used to be?" Jack questions in anger
"Shut up... Your dreams got nothin' to do with me!" Leona spat back
"I understand the irony of me being the one to say it, but it pains me to see you like this. You'd be wise to confine yourself to your room and try to calm down!" Riddle said sternly with a glare as Leona glares back
"What do you know about how I feel?!"
"Would that the lion king of the savanna could witness this absolute farce. No, if you ask me, the collar suits you far better than a crown ever could." Lilia said as Leona glares at him
"...Huh?!"
"Lilia? What are you going?" I question as he motions for me to be silent
"You may bemoan the fact that you're not higher in line to be king. But with that sensitive ego of yours? That so quickly directs all your petty anger at your retainers... Well, the idea of you ever contending with a REAL king like our Malleus—is absolutely laughable. Even if you COULD defeat Malleus, so long as that's how you choose to conduct yourself? You would never be fit to rule!" Lilia said in a cold tone
"Hah... Ha ha. Yeah, you're probably right. No, you're EXACTLY right...! Ha ha ha ha! I will never become king. No matter how hard I try!" Leona starts laughing crazy
'I think Lilia may've may it worse...' I thought
Then the sky begins to grow dark once more but this time it wasn't because of gusts of sand that Leona created earlier. But it was exactly like the kind that I've seen happen just moments before Riddle overblotted. I quickly look at the others as they were staring in shock at this before I looked back at Leona.
"What is he doing?!" I question in shock
"Myah?! All my fur's standin' on end!" Grim exclaims as he was shaking in my arms
"The magic power within Leona is surging... I don't think my collar can hold it!" Riddle said as he began to struggle
"No. That isn't magic power. That's negative energy, which means..." Lilia's eyes widen in horror
"Don't tell that he's..." I gasped as Cater shouts to all of us
"Everybody, get down!"
We all quickly duck as a burst of magic came from Leona as I begin to feel some pain in my eye and chest form. We each shielded one another to protect us from the burst to lessen the pain and aftereffects. Riddle shielded me as I was shielding Grim, Cater shielded Ace and Deuce, while Jack shielded Ruggie and Lilia. Once the burst was gone, we all look to see that the sky was now a dark yellow as some things began to float. We quickly stand up as we watch as the collar around Leona's neck flew off.
"!!!!!" We were taken aback by the sudden turn of events
"Riddle's collar flew off?!" Cater gasped out
"I've been loathed since the day I was born. I've never had a place, never had a future! None of my hard work is ever rewarded! How could any of YOU possibly understand? MY disappointment?! MY pain?! AAAAAAAAAH!" Leona screams out
I then began to feel pain within my chest as my right eye burned with my vision showing the puddle of ink grow bigger and spread. Then as my vision was back to normal I watched in horror as Leona be enveloped by the black ink, just like Riddle had been weeks ago. Leona transformed as a nightmarish giant lion behind him with a ink bottle for a face. Leona's bangs were flipped up and swooshed over as his forehead was a painted pattern that v-down. Over the left eye was a flame of yellow, and a long scar made with blot with gold teeth around his neck and a wrap of black mane above a corset of black leather.
Both his hands with blot as it wandered up his arms over his elbows while on his wrists were gold bracelets and bangles. Around Leona's waist was gold and yellow fabrics with African designs, folded in a certain way, fell down across the front of the animal pelt waist cape. There was a gold belt with a black gem, long chains of gold with tassels and small teeth swayed off the right side, with a pouch made of black mane on the left. Down Leona's legs were banded leather pants and on his ankles were two cuff of gold, one of drops on the right while on the left hung ovular coins with spear tips.
"GRRRRRAAAAAWWWWWRRRRR!" Leona roared out
"No... Not again..." I gasped out in horror
"What's happening?! Some kinda giant shadow is comin' outta him!" Jack question in shock
"That's the incarnation of his blot!" Deuce exclaims
"Is he goin' into evil darkness berserker mode like Riddle did?!" Grim questions in fear
"If you can move, seek shelter! Ace, Deuce, help me take the wounded outside! Lilia, please get help from the faculty!" Riddle orders the three as they nod.
"On it!" Deuce and Ace responded
"Understood. Stay strong until I return!" Lilia said as he leaves quickly
"Grrrrraaaaawwwwwrrrrr!" Leona roars again
'He's acting like a complete feral animal...' I thought to myself
"Why does this keep happening to us? This is soooo not my #brand!" Cater questions
"Why is that on your mind?!" I exclaims
"If you're afraid, feel free to run." Riddle stated as Cater shakes his head
"Trey wouldn't let me hear then end of that. We do this together, Housewarden!"
"I dunno what's going on, but if we hit Leona hard enough, maybe we can snap him outta it?" Jack declared
"I... *cough* I'll help too... *cough* No way am I taking what he said lying down!" Ruggie stated as he got to his feet
"So even the lowly hyena turns against me? Ah ha ha! What a total joke!"
"Ciel, if we can take this guy down, they'll let us play in the tournament! Give it everything ya got!" Grim stated
"He's coming for us, guys! Let's go get him!" I said as we got into a fight position
"If I can't overthrow the world, I'll turn it into sand! It's pointless—all of it!" Leona declares
"Have you always felt this way? All this time...?" Ruggie questions
"Ruggie, let's hit Leona hard and knock some sense into him, fast!" Jack exclaims
The group stood in front of me as Grim joined them so I can give orders without having to worry about dropping Grim. Leona then proceeds to attack as the lion creature sent out pretty strong attacks that was combine with Leona's. As the group, with my orders attacked back, using every attack spell that they had. I watched as I knew that my group wouldn't stand a chance with his attention on them, so I decided to use myself as bait. I quickly grabbed his attention and was playing cat and mouse with him while the others continued the fight. After a while of dodging and fighting, Leona stops as he become angry while the rest of us used this to catch our breath.
"Rgh...So strong! How can someone so powerful give up on everything?" Jack questions
"You're getting on my nerves. I'm gonna turn each 'n every last one of you to sand!" Leona shouts
We continue to fight as I continue to use myself as bait to keep Leona off of the others for a while to give them clear shots. Though this time he was attacking much faster than before as he was much angrier. However that was a good thing for us as that means he'll lose focus much more easily but they still have to be careful. I was almost hit by his attack but quickly dodged, then Riddle and Deuce hit him, as pain was in my chest again. After a while of attacks and dodging, we finally brought Leona to his knees.
"I wanted... to be king..." Leona said in pain
I watch as he begins to be swallowed up, I quickly rush to him as my hand draws towards Leona before grabbing his hand. As a result, we both were swallowed up by the ink pool that the monster left behind. I held onto Leona tightly as I was afraid I'll lose him within this ink pool if I do. As my vision grows dark, I could hear the cries of the others, callout our names before I lost consciousness.
"Ciel! Leona!"
(Boss fights are not my strong point as stated before but at least I tried ;w; )
