when you checked your wristwatch for the 7th time in the last minute, and time just kept ticking onwards to 3:11 pm; you came to the conclusion that eddie munson was in fact not going to turn up to this private tutoring session.

and knowing that you had to get home in time to double-check you were taping today's episode of 'growing pains' on vhs and you had left your chem homework on your vanity, there was no point in staying in the dusty library any longer, waiting for an overdue senior.

embarrassed, befuddled, shamed; you had never been stood up before. especially not by your eager study students. and definitely not by any form of a date. mostly because well... you had never been on a date date. you could maybe count greg mccorkle in the 6th grade, except you were somewhat certain that had been a dare by his friends. you were totally over that anyway now.

still, the matter in hand was that eddie munson was a waste of time and energy. he wasn't worth the lesson plan and revision guide you had created for him. he would never know how many hours went into your colour coding highlighting system. but that didn't matter now. life would be onward and upwards for you. focusing on yourself, and not even thinking about that stupid, dirty, ugly rocker boy-

'hey princess, sorry I'm late. miss carmichael just loves me so much, she had to keep me behind.'

'don't call me-' you interjected.

'i'm joking, she absolutely hates my guts.' he continued.

'hmm,' you pondered, 'let me guess why, were you late to her class?'

'about that - i am sorry. truly.'

'sorry isn't good enough. you waste my time; i won't help you.' you slid out of your chair and began packing your textbooks into your zealous backpack.

'hey princess, please no- i'm relying on you, i need you-'

'you can't just-'

'alright i know, i know, and i promise i will never be late again. please? otherwise, i'll die here...'

oh eddie... how little he knew.

you looked up at him, and for the very first time, you really looked at him. he was about 10 inches taller than you with staggering shoulders and a strong neck. yet you had never seen eyes so wide and pleading, except for a puppy dog.

it made your heart skip two beats.

you didn't have the time to consider why.

'you'll still pay for the full session.' you commanded, pulling materials back out of your bag.

'of course!'

'well then, sit down, finals start in 195 days, we haven't got much time to lose.'

You've reached the end of published parts.
