Chapter one

Lana pov
I wake up in a strangely warm bed something I'm not used to I spring up
Panicked, and scared not knowing where I am when a middle aged man walks in he's clean to clean he has fresh clean shave and clean clothes he introduced himself as tommy he explained to me how he and his wife found me on there patrols that's right I was hit with an arrow I touch my now patched up shoulder and realize it's still kind of hurts. Tommy explains to me that they found me lying in a pool of my own blood in the forest. And that They brought me back to a place he says it's Jackson, a Place safe from the infected and raders he explains to me that I can stay as long as I wish.

I began to get up slowly. He seems nice too nice back when my mother was alive She always told me never to trust anybody. that only people you trust can betray you. Maybe she was right but I get up anyways, I grab my hoodie off. The chair next to me only it's not my hoodie it's a new hoodie clean never worn. Tommy me explains to me the rules of how this place works He asks if I need a hand which I quite rudely decline. I'm not usually rude. I just don't really trust people.

As we exit what I assumed to be their form of a hospital in they're small town, I see people everywhere. Lots of people more people than I've ever seen together at once in my whole life they're smiling, happy like they all have a purpose. He asked me my name And I ponder in my head if I should lie or if I should tell him the truth, Lana, I say Lana is my name he nods I don't even know exactly where we're going. all I know it's the more we walk the more something smells really good we're here. He says I look up and see it looks like a cafeteria there's people eating i sit down at a table with who he introduces his wife Maria, his brother, Joel, and another girl around my age Tommy tells me her name is Ellie I sit down and quite rudely start shoving food into my mouth. I'm starving I haven't eaten in days. I don't ask too many questions. I have quite literally figured it out in my head that by the time they wake up the next morning, I will be gone and halfway back to what I call my home.

Ellie pov
This girl never seen her before. It's weird having someone my age around besides Dina and Jesse everyone else is either younger than me or older than me .I watch her she's quiet, just shoving food in her mouth. She quite scrawny looking like she hasn't eaten in days. She's got dark bags under her eyes and red hair like I've never seen before freckles and green eyes. I look down to my plate and begin eating not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. I've never liked meeting new people joles the only person I ever really clicked with. He's like a father to me. He found me and saved me it took me a long time to forgive him but eventually I did .
Joel gets up and I follow him. I ask him a lot of questions about this strange girl whose name is Lana and he doesn't know anything about her other than what tommy has told him. We put are plates in the sink.
I I look at my watch and see that it's time to go on patrol with dina and Jesse so I make my way to the stables to get shimmer.
