NORTH SHORE HIGH WAS YOUR STEREOTYPICAL HIGH SCHOOL.

You had the usual high school cliques such as the jocks, the artists, the goths, the stoners and the loners.

Last but definitely not least, there are the Plastics.

The plastics are a group of three most popular girls who rule the school. They have the best clothes, date the hottest and pretty much get everything they want exactly when they want it.

Nobody messed with the Plastics, they're ruthless, cunning and manipulative. Their positions as the most popular people at North Shore High have never been threatened and no one would dare dethrone the teen royals.

Although there may be someone that's just as popular, even if she isn't too happy about the fact and why she ended up that way.

MAYA WHITMORE WAS THE DEFINITION OF AN ANGEL.

She had good looks, brains and most of all a kind heart.

The girl never had a negative word to say about anyone.

She helped people in need any chance she got and made everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the world.

Everyone at North Shore loved her down to earth personality and sweet smile.

This list included the queen of the Plastics: Regina George.

No one loved Maya as much as Regina did.

She was the only person the blonde treated like an actual human being.

Regina showered the girl with attention and thoughtful gifts.

The two became fast friends and a bit more, Although that was something no one could know about. According to Regina at least.

Maya wasn't quite sure what her sexuality was but she knew that wasn't straight.

Regina helped her realize that because she was the girl the brunette had non-platonic feelings for.

It was obvious Regina felt the same way but she wasn't as willing to admit it to anyone other than Maya.

So they dated in secret. Saving their sweet kisses and scandalous touches for when it was just the two of them.

Things were amazing between them and Maya couldn't have been happier.

Except there was something in the back of her mind telling her this wasn't right.

She didn't like keeping her feelings a secret, it was fun in the beginning but then she started to feel horrible.

Her overthinking got the best of her and she started to believe something was wrong with her and that was the reason Regina didn't want to date her publicly.

Was she ugly? Embarrassing? Fat? Or maybe she was all three.

The only way to find out was to ask Regina herself.

That was the biggest mistake of her life.

Regina was furious that the girl could even question how she felt about her. Then the blonde tried to convince her it was best for the both of them to keep their relationship a secret.

That was the response Maya hoped to not receive. Yet she should have expected it, Regina would never be ready to show everyone how much she loved her.

So Maya decided to let her go. She couldn't put herself through that pain anymore. There were days when she swore she could feel her heart crack a little. Piece by piece she was slowing falling apart.

She went home and sobbed quietly into her pillow, the salty tears sliding down her face.

The following Monday at school, she was putting on a brave face but in all honesty she just wanted to see Regina and apologize.

She knew it was pathetic that she came crawling back so soon but she couldn't help it. She realized that no one had ever made her feel the way she felt around Regina. So she decided to take what she could get.

Maya didn't expect to find her making out with Aaron Samuels.

She felt hot tears stream down her face, her rage boiled over. She wanted to scream but that would draw unwanted attention to herself. So she wiped her tears and turned on her heel escaping somewhere so that she could cry in peace.

Regina George had broken her heart, and for that she would have to pay.
