Richie sat in his desk, gazing out the window and watching the clouds drift lazily by. It was another boring day in school, just like any other. He sighed and leaned back in his chair, feeling the weight of boredom and the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Suddenly, there was a commotion outside the classroom door. The students looked up, startled, as they heard banging and shuffling in the hallway.
"What the hell is going on?" Sam asked, his voice tinged with concern.
Richie stood up and walked over to the door, cautiously peeking out the window. His eyes widened in horror as he saw the rotting, pale faces of the undead outside.
"Zombies," he muttered, disbelief and fear choking his voice.
"What do we do?" Leah asked, her eyes darting around the room. "We can't just sit here."
"We need to block the door," Patrick said, his voice calm and steady. "We can use the desks and chairs."
The group worked together, moving the heavy furniture in front of the door to create a barricade. They could hear the zombies moaning and scratching at the door, trying to get in.
"What's happening?" a voice called out from the back of the room. Richie turned to see a group of students huddled together in fear.
"We need to stay calm," he said, trying to sound reassuring. "We're going to get through this."
The group settled in, trying to come up with a plan for survival. They had no idea how long they would be stuck in the classroom, or if anyone would come to their rescue. It was a terrifying and uncertain situation, but they had each other.
As the hours dragged on, they started to get restless. They tried to make small talk to pass the time, but the tension was palpable. Sam kept nervously tapping his foot, Leah was fidgeting with her phone, and Patrick was quietly taking stock of their supplies.
Richie tried to keep everyone calm, telling them jokes and stories, but deep down he was just as scared as the rest of them. He couldn't stop thinking about his family, his friends, and the life he had before the apocalypse.
Suddenly, they heard a loud crash from outside. The barricade shook as something heavy slammed against the door.
"They're getting in!" Sam yelled, panic in his voice.
The group huddled together, bracing themselves for the worst. The door creaked and groaned under the weight of the undead, and then...nothing.
Silence.
They cautiously approached the door, slowly moving the barricade out of the way. They peered out into the hallway, but there was no sign of the zombies.
"What the hell?" Leah muttered, confusion etched on her face.
They cautiously stepped out into the hallway, weapons at the ready. They cautiously made their way through the school, not sure what to expect. The halls were eerily quiet, and there was no sign of the undead.
It was as if they had disappeared into thin air.
As they emerged from the school, they saw that the streets were chaos. Cars were overturned, buildings were on fire, and there were zombies everywhere.
This was just the beginning of the apocalypse, and they were in for a wild ride.
