Chaos in The Kingdom.

Chapter 3.

A servant was sent to put poison into the drink of Prince Lee.His brother Geum is eager to attain the throne at all possible ways.So,he instructed the servant to poison his drink night after night until he is poisoned and dies.This is the punishment he will receive for going up against him. Prince Geum thought as he grabbed the jar of wine.The servant succeeded in putting the poison into Prince Lee's wine.

As he drank the poisoned beverage, the smell of it spread throughout his mouth, causing his taste buds to ache terribly. He felt nauseous and was struggling to hold his breath.The poison tasted foul and disgusting and soon enough, he choked on his food that he was consuming and started coughing violently, which was followed by sputtering water from his throat.His heart felt heavy and cold and he wondered where this poison had come from.

The poisoning continued and as he was about to collapse on the floor and died from poison,the Queen barged into his room.He knew that his mother hated anyone who harmed him especially her youngest son.She rushed over to him and placed her arms under his shoulders so that she could carry him out of the room and put him on the bed.She helped him to remove his shirt and cleanse himself,before dressing him into fresh clothes.She didn't allow him to drink a drop of wine during dinner that evening,because he was obviously unwell.She worried about him too much. She was so worried about her first born son.She wanted to comfort him with her love and show him that she cared about him.She wanted to give him an easy time to adjust.But instead she was the cause of him suffering and getting sick.

"If only I hadn’t let Geum get close to him…..then this never would have happened."

After putting him to sleep,she walked slowly out of the bedroom,closed the door silently behind her,and took a deep sigh. She looked exhausted.She felt terrible for letting Geum get this close to Prince Lee. She knew that her youngest son was capable of doing anything he set his mind to and she should not underestimate him.She needed to find a way to keep him away from Prince Lee forever and prevent him from harming him any further.She didn't understand why she didn't think of doing that sooner,but now wasn't the time to ponder on that. She needed to take action immediately.

When she arrived home,she called for guards.They quickly found out what the Queen wanted and brought her to her sons’ bedroom.

She knocked lightly on their door.“Guards? Can you please open the door and enter?” She asked them softly.

The guards opened the door. The first person that entered the room was Geum.”Mother!"he uttered out.The Queen looked at him with rage and disappointment."Did you know your brother was poisoned?" She asked him harshly."What?! How?" The young prince looked shocked and surprised."How is he!?" He repeated his mother's words in panic. ‘Is he going to die?” His eyes were filled with fear. ‘Please tell me he is going to be okay....please tell me….’ He thought. The guard looked down and shook his head.The Queen's face grew pale and tears formed in both of their eyes,but did not made a single noise while staring at her youngest son.

The two stared at him quietly for sometime with worry clearly displayed in their expressions.“What did you do?" She said in a low voice.”Did you do it?! Did you try to kill him?!"His mother yelled in a furious tone.Geum didn’t speak.

”Tell me Geum!!” The Queen begged him.The young prince didn't respond and looked at the ground. "What did you do!!"The Queen yelled even louder. “Nothing! It was an accident!! I don't remember!!!"He answered loudly.“Accident!? What was an accident? Your whole kingdom is going to fall apart with you in it!!" She screamed in shock. The Queen couldn’t believe what she had just heard and couldn't comprehend it.She felt betrayed by her own children.”I was trying to protect the Kingdom! My entire kingdom!!” He yelled back furiously."Protecting the Kingdom?! Is killing someone protecting the Kingdom?! What has been happening for the past year is not protecting the Kingdom,it's just another excuse for you!” She shouted at him.”I’m sorry Mother….”he answered in a soft and trembling voice.

“Your apology does not help anything!!” She replied angrily.“Don't try to justify yourself either!You've betrayed me! And not once did you bother to consult me,even if you were scared that I wouldn't accept you being the next ruler.You've been lying to me!

And you don't care what happens to anyone around you!"She told him angrily.”I've been trying to protect you! How dare you question me!"He said angrily."And I guess you think that you'll always be protected by the Kingdom’s laws…you don't! Do you really think that there isn’t anyone outside who wants you dead??

That people won't use this as an opportunity to harm you..?"She asked in a stern voice.”I'm not asking for protection...and i'm sure you wouldn't agree to that,but...at least..." His voice trailed off before he looked up at his mother. "...at least consider allowing me a little space..to do whatever I want without having to go through all this trouble."He said sadly. “A small space?

You want to live like a rat in a trap?"She scoffed. "I'd be happy if you left my Kingdom,if that's what you want.” She spat venomously.“Leave my Kingdom? What makes you think that I’ll leave when you say you wish for me to leave?" He asked her coldly."Well,what do you expect me to do? Tell me how can i help you? Just tell me what you need from me."She said while walking towards him.

"I need you to promise me something."”Anything."”That...I'm going to become the future king of this Kingdom. If you want me to leave,I can't do that."He said.The Queen looked at him with pure hatred and anger in her eyes.”You're insane! I could never abandon my brother!!

"He shouted while clenching his fists. “let me die with my brother! I’d rather die than let him get the throne!"He shouted again.”NO! I refuse! If you were my son you wouldn't have done this.The Queen left angrily disappointed at her son's behaviour.
