I was eating dinner with my family and couldn't stop thinking about how Josiah is supposed to see me at my house tonight and how we made out in the bathroom.

"Did you have a good day, dear?" My mom asks.

I nodded my head slowly in response. The only reason why I asked Josiah was because I knew that my parents would be leaving for a couple hours and they would be out of the house. I didn't have any siblings, so I figured that things would be easier here anyways. Hopefully he finds where it is and doesn't come while my parent are still here. That would be SUPER awkward.

I dug my fork into my lasagna to try to think about anything else. Suddenly, the door bell rings and I get up to answer it.

Josiah, no this isn't a good time, I think to myself.

When I open the door it's our neighbors the Durginson's. Oh, thank goodness.

"Hey, we're checking if you guys have had any power outages." Mr Durginson states.

My dad comes up to the door and exclaims,  "No, we haven't. Why are you asking?"

Mrs Durginson answers, "Our house has had a power outage for most of the afternoon. It really is the strangest thing. Then suddenly, the lights turned on and have been working fine."

"Huh, did you get that checked out?"

"We were going to call a contractor to see what's causing it."

"Honey," my mother called from the other room. "It's time to go."

He turns his head back to our neighbors and said, "Sorry guys. Looks like the Mrs wants me."

Just like that my parents were gone and I was left along without Josiah. The time on my watch said 8:20 pm. Was he not going to show up? I was all alone, and then I couldn't see anything. Dang it! The lights went out.  Along with the movie that I was watching in the basement. The power switch was in the garage. Maybe there was an outage in the batteries or something. It was hard to walk up the stairs in the dark, so when I got to the kitchen I scrambled my fingers through the junk door to find a flash light. Bingo, I got it.

I touched the on button, but it didn't work.

 Dang it!

Why does nothing work in this house?

I leave the flashlight and start walking to the garage when I hear tapping on the walls. It sounded like someone was knocking on a door, but it was on the inside of the house. Whatever, I always spook myself out when I am home alone.

I continue to the garage and stepped down the stairs. I switched open the box and felt that the on switch was down. Why would the on switch be down. Then I hear the door slam.  I turn on the lights, "Excuse me. Who's in there?"

I wait a little and hear no response, "Griffen, you better not try to be pranking me."

I walk back into the house and yell, "Griffen," but mid-sentence someone puts their hand over my mouth.

"Guess who." A raspy voice says. Maybe Josiah would come in the house and stop them because this wasn't Josiah, but the voice of a man.

"Sorry," he clears his voice, "guess who." Ok, maybe a small man. He let go of my face and I slowly turn around. It's creepy guy that quietly sits in the back of my class. I can't try to hide my surprise.

Quickly, I run down stairs hearing foot steps following me.  I stand on the other side of the couch blocking me from him.

He descended the stairs gracefully slow around the corner so I could see his feet. He waited a second and then quickly finishes the rest of them.
