We got back to the car and I said, "Just don't try and kill me this time."
"Uh huh," he nods with a smile. "I'm pretty sure that I just kinda saved you from drowning in that river. I wouldn't try to kill you. At least on purpose."
"Killing me accidentally doesn't make it any better."
"I will protect you with my life, as we are living it up to the fullest," he said earnestly. I smiled and looked down at my lap. "By the way, I will give you some extra clothes when you get back and you can shower, but you are meeting my parents tonight?" He said firmly.
"Um, great," I had a slight pause as my brain processed what he said. "Wait what? So soon."
"Yeah, it'll be fine. My parents will love you." I sat back against my chair and thought about this major bombshell and how to deal with it. We've literally been in each other's lives for two days. "I've told you that you're mine."
I give him this look of uneasiness.
He replies aggressively, "Do I need to prove that you're mine again?"
"Having sex doesn't mean that I'm yours," I argued. "Does that mean you are mine?" Then suddenly the woods opened up to a tan house covered in ivy. Then, he opened one of the four garage doors and parked the car inside.
"Are your parents home now?"
He thought while rubbing his chin,"Not yet, but they will shortly. So let's get everything you want done."
We get out of the car, shut the car door and turn back to the open garage door to see Silas. Ummm, what was he doing here? He just turned around, ignoring the sight that he just saw and left.
I turned to face Josiah, "What is he doing here?" I am confused.
"He works here." He puts it simply.
Wait, so he knew him. We walk in through the garage door as the smell of warm pastries warms my nose. "Mmnn. What's that?"
"Oh, it's Gwen. She's making blueberry muffins. She does every once in a while because she knows I like them." I took in the architecture of the house around me. There were black chandeliers on the ceiling, granite tiles and rich red oak wood. "She probably made them because she knew you were coming."
She knew I was coming? How?
I just decided. "Follow me." We walked forward to what I thought was the front door. Across from the front door was a set of red oak staircases, with light shining down on them. "My room is just upstairs and to the right. It has a bathroom inside. I'm gonna go get you some clothes." I nod and start making my way upstairs.
Good thing that his parents aren't home, otherwise I would be too scared to walk upstairs and accidentally run into them. What am I talking about? I am meeting his parents. They probably already know about me.
I walked into the first room in the hallway to the right. His room was mostly gray, except the black bookshelves with multicolored books on them. Gosh, I didn't know that he was a nerd. His bookshelves had a comfortable looking window seat between them. I walked into the bathroom that held a shower that included an archway entryway and two shower heads.
Damn, I wish I could shower here everyday. I hopped in the shower and took a quick shower. I didn't want Josiah to be waiting on me, or his parents.
Towel, towel, towel. Where was the towel?
Outside, I heard Josiah yell, "Are you done?"
"Yeah," I struggled while looking for the towel. Suddenly, the door opens and he walks in. Instead of being embarrassed by seeing me naked and awkwardly hunched over, he says, "What?" It isn't like I haven't seen you naked before." He waits a few seconds before he realizes that I'm looking for something. "What are you looking for?" He asks.
