Suddenly, five spot lights appeared on the stage, not too far in front of me. The first notes of a song started playing and five bodies rose up out of the stage. The one with the shortest hair began singing.

Feels like we've been living in fast forward

Another moment passing by

Everyone around me was screaming in delight as I just looked up dumbfoundedly at the stage. I probably looked like an idiot because I didn't know any of the lyrics, but I started to catch on, especially during the chorus.

The concert was amazing, they had so much energy on the stage. And I was surprised; they could actually sing! I'm not gonna lie, I thought this was going to be like every other pop star these days where they're so overly autotuned that when you see them in concert it's like listening to a dying alpaca. But, they actually had some amazing harmonies going on. I was impressed to say the least. They even took the time to read out some tweets and answer questions. The five of them seemed genuinely thankful to everyone. I started recognizing their names too. The blonde's name sounded like the Nile River. There was one with crazy curls on his head whose name was Harry. I recognized the one with beautiful eyes as being Zayn. I wasn't quite sure which was which but Louis and Liam were the two others.

I was really getting into the music, perhaps dancing a little ridiculously but I couldn't help it; their energy and enhusiasm was infectious. They, along with everone else in the building, were sad when the concert came to an end. My ears were ringing as we slowly made our way out the door. Monica, Julia, their friend Kelsie and I had to go through a series of doors to get to the place where we were told to wait in line to meet the guys. I was excited now, but also kind of tentative. I now had this great impression of these guys and I was nervous that it would be crushed if we walked in and they put down the charade of loving their fans and ended up being complete jerks.

The wait seemed like forever and my butterflies seemed to be getting butterflies of their own. I just awkwardly stood by Monica, Julia, and Kelsie as they squeeled and discussd what questions they were going to ask, who they were going to hug, how to trick the boys into kissing them. I felt extremely out of place, I'm just not one of those fangirly girls and I was standing in a line of the most fangirliest fangirls that existed.

We neared the front of the line. I passed time by snapchatting Jen a few times. She seemed to be just as excited as the girls that were in tears behind me.

Before I knew it we were the next group. I hung by the back of the group as we were herded into a room where five guys sat on  couch beaming up at all of us. Monica was jumping up and down with Kelsie as Julia seemed to be hyperventilating. The guys all stood up and walked over to us laughing. They acted like this was completely natural behavior. Meanwhile, I'm standing there thinking my companions are all crazy. The three girls ran up to them and started exchanging hugs (I really wonder how many hugs the guys have given to complete strangers). This was when they all seemed to realize I was standing behind the other three girls. The one that I think I finally determined as Liam looked at me with his bottom lip slightly out and eyerows scrunched a litle bit, a curious expression. He seemed to realize I was a little out of place, but was distracted again as Monica launched herself at him. Then I made awkward eye contact with the Harry the curly haired wonder and he gave me a cheeky smile before being ambushed by Kelsie.

I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing here. Hugging people I didn't know was not something I did on a daily basis let alone throwing myself at them. But I knew I had to get some good pictures and such for Jen. I was distracted by a voice much closer than I was expecting.

"Everything okay, love?" It was Louis. Or I think it was. I was still learning who they were.

"Uhmm, y-yeah" I stuttered with surprise. He seemed concerned. Probably thought I was going to faint or something as I've heard that's a regular occurrance in their presence.

"If you say so" He said with a smile.

I saw the Nile River coming over to me. Oh god oh god oh god. Get it together Amy! You look like a loser and Jen is counting on you!

"Hello!" He said. His voice was quite unique, Irish maybe. It was hard to tell from one word.

"Hi" That was all I could get out before I was wrapped in a hug. His long arms completely enclosed my body. Damn he smelled good even after just running around a stage for a few hours. He laughed as he took in my suprised expression.

"You feeling alright?" Yup definitely Irish.

"Yes, I'm just--well, I dunno. I'm sort of here for my friend and this is just all so crazy for me. I suppose you're used to girls screaming and fainting when they hug you."

"Well sort of, they usually just break into hysterical crying, it's quite upsetting actually." He said. "why isn't your friend here?"

"She got really sick and her mom wouldn't let her come, she asked for me to come becuase she knew I wouldn't be quite as hysterical as her other friends. She'd really like an autograph" I looked at him hopefully.

"Of course!" He exclaimed. "Zayn, get over here." He called over to the only other unoccupied boy. Zayn came over smiling with his eyes sparkling.

"What's up?"

"This girl, uhmm...what was your name?"

"Amy." I replied with a shy smile.

"Amy here needs something to bring back to her friend..." He looked at me expectantly.

"Jen" I filled in.

"She's sick so she couldn't come tonight, have any ideas better than just a signature?"

Zayn thought for a moment. "Do you have a camera?"

I held my camera up. "yup"

"Perfect. How does a personalized 'get well' video sound?"

"That would be fanastic! That would probably make her life, thank You!" I exclaimed

Just as we were calling the others over to organize something the security guards came over telling us it was time to go for the next group to come in. The Nile River looked upset for a moment then he tore off a corner of a piece of paper scribbled something down and gave it to me.

"The line isn't much longer, send me a text and I'll call you when we're done." He whispered in my ear as we basically pushed out the door.

I couldn't believe it. I looked at the ripped paper and scrawled on it were actual numbers with his name which was apparently spelled "Niall". "Jen isn't going to believe me" I thought as I sent her a message trying to tell her what happened.

Jen- NO WAY!!!! you have his number?!?! what are you texting me for? text him, NOW!!!! :D

I laughed at her excitedness. The other girls were complaining that they had to go home. Ughgh what was I going to do? I couldn't just leave. I texted Niall saying that my ride was leaving

Niall- They can leave, we'll get someone to drive you home.

Reluctantly I told Monica's mother that she could leave. It felt weird. I was voluntarily making myself stranded at a venue an hour and a half away from home just becuase this guy that I barely knew gave me his number. Monica's mother called mine to see if it was okay and after much convincing she allowed it as long as I texted her every half hour. She was strange sometimes but I understood why. Then my phone started ringing.
