Chapter 5: Lucky Charmer

Bella Casa restaurant was at full capacity. Everybody was excited and anticipated to see the great Mysteria perform his mind-blowing magic before them, and could hardly wait.

The manager of the restaurant announced that the show was about to begin, as Oleboheng made his way on to the tiny stage they had set up for him, a small platform near the ordering desk, with small, dark purple curtains on the side, a small attempt to make it look like a real stage. On the far side of the platform was a tiny, black coffee table, which was requested by Oleboheng to be there, as he would need it for the trick.

Oleboheng ascended onto the stairs and stood at the very center of the platform as soon as the manager introduced him. A thunderous applause of the audience flooded the room, accompanied by cheering and whistling. He took a short bow before raising his hand for the audience to stop cheering.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen; I hope you're all doing great, as much as you all look beautiful today..", he announced with a big smile on his face, the audience blushed at the latter. "First of all, I would like to announce that I'm grateful that most of you came here to see me perform, and it is such an honor. Because of that, I'll make sure this is a magic performance you all won't forget.", He smiled and the audience cheered.

"To start off this trick, like most tricks, I would like a volunteer to join me on stage... Oops, I mean platform.", The audience laughed at his joke, and soon after, a lot of people raised their hands up to volunteer, most of them were extremely excited,

"Pick me!", Screamed one lady in the front.

"No, pick me!", Screamed another lady at the back.

"No, he should choose me!", Screamed a man in the far right corner.

It didn't take long for the room to be filled with a plethora of voices from many of the people that wanted to partake in the trick. The choir of voices was so loud, Oleboheng could hardly hear himself speak, "Okay, okay; settle down, please,", slowly but surely, like the ending of a song from the eighties, the voices died down.

"Thank you very much.", Oleboheng smiled at them, "Since this is already hard, I'm just gonna pick one random person...", He scanned through the crowd and chose one lady sitting on the right corner, "You there; miss with the yellow dress, I choose you."

The lady blushed as she got up slowly and sauntered to the platform. The audience clapped their hands as she made her way to the platform. Upon arriving, Oleboheng shook her hand gently and gave it a light kiss, making the woman blush uncontrollably as the audience cheered loudly.

Once again, Oleboheng raised his hand to silence the audience. "As you can see, I got this beautiful woman up here with me,", he announced as the audience became silent and turned to the woman, "What is your name, beautiful lady?", He smiled at her, making her blush even more.

"I'm Kgahliso.", The woman smiled.

"Kgahliso, what a wonderful name. And it really suits you because you really impressed me with your beauty.", He raised his brows at her, as she blushed even harder, making the audience laugh and cheer.

"As you can see, I got Ms. Kgahliso up here with me, she will be taking part in the magic trick I'm about to show you..", he took out a small deck of cards from the pocket of his blazer and fanned them out on the black coffee table with a swift motion.

"Ms Kgahliso, if you take a closer look at these cards here, you can see that they are all different, correct?"

Kgahliso leaned in closer and inspected the cards carefully. After she was finished, she nodded to confirm that they are different.
